Iowa St vs Tech

The Big 12 conference is just plain crazy this season! As I have said more than once, every team in the league is capable of pulling off a win against the so-called best teams, especially at home.

Iowa State looked SO bad for much of the game. Players standing around, balls bouncing out of the hoop, slow to pick up on defense. They did not want to be there. Tech did not look good, but made just enough to win and catalyze some energy down the stretch.

Tech also outplayed ISU. OU had better not take them lightly Wednesday night.

Told you, tech was not (and is not) good.

Don't downplay that win. Tech is obviously not a great team, but they can play and will beat some good teams this year. The outcome of our game vs Tech is a testament to how well we played, not how bad Tech is. As homer as that sounds, its true.

I think, as with the big win over texas, it's a little bit of both. Tech was missing all their shots; some of that was definitely due to our defense, but not all of it. That's not to say we didn't play very well, but they also, like the longhorns in Austin, had a really bad outing.

Tech is very young. I suspect they got a little impressed with themselves and were not prepared for a Big XII road game. Add to that OU had played themselves into a must win situation and it was the perfect storm for Tech to melt down.

Regardless OU played great. Beating them like that under any circumstances is outstanding. It is very easy for a team to let up when they are up 30 or 40 points. OU played hard to the finish. It was great to see Mankin and Harper score late. People take walk ons for granted. Those are memories those guys will have for the rest of their lives.

No argument here. Just trying to validate the significance of the win. My point is that Tech is more competitive in this league than some on here give them credit for.
