Assume for a second they were the same age and were both entering the draft this year, who would you take if you were the Wizards?

Rose in my opinion.

Wall is a freak athlete and probably what the Wizards need, but I'm a huge Evan Turner fan and think he will have a better career. That guy has serious game.

I like Turner better than Wall as well. Just like I liked B Roy with Portland. They were guys that were ready to come in and play. I think Wall still has to better stronger and he has NO Shooting touch at this time... But Rose wasnt a great shooter either.

rose... but turner is not better than wall... turner will be a bust imo...

Wall. He is the best pure point out of college in the last 30 years. But, what do I know. If I have the first pick, I take wall and it isn't close. I said this about Durant when he came out and about Jordan when he came out. There is an understandable fascination with size, but some kids are just special and it is obvious. I put Wall in that category. You never know.

Really the last 30 years? Come on... Wall threw up lobs like it was an all start game.. How did that work out in the NCAA's Tourney?

6.2 ast and 4.0 to's... Not the best ratio for the best pg to come out in the last 30 years.

I wasn't basing my opinion of Wall on statistics, and I probably should have said I think he is the best point guard prospect in the last 30 years, and not the best point guard. On performance, I really don't know who would be the best over that period of time. I would take Wall over Rose as well. Again, not saying he played in college as well as Rose, just that he is a better prospect.

I have never seen anyone as fast with the ball as Wall. He is fearless, unselfish, works hard and smart. He certainly has things to work on (shooting for one). But, I will be absolutely shocked if he isn't the best point in the NBA for most of his career. As lazy as everyone is in the NBA, I just can't see anyone staying with him in the open court I guess I see him as Jason Kidd in his prime only 25 times faster.

Your points are well taken though, his performance to date wouldn't support my opinions to date. Obviously, this is just a subjective belief and opinion of mine.

By the way, I see Monroe and Dom Jones as the sleepers in this class.

Wall due to significant advantage in character and intelligence. 2 things very important to the PG position.

What leads you to believe there's a large disparity between the two from those aspects? I don't see any difference IMO.

Wall is an honor student. He even stayed to complete this semester after declaring for the draft and earned a 3.5 GPA.

My original response took into account that Rose's SAT scores are in question and he's been photographed flashing gang symbols. I shouldn't consider that because he's just a kid and the product of his environment which he had nothing to do with.

The 3.5 Wall earned this semester is impressive though, so instead of tearing down Rose I should just give Wall kudos.

If that is true, then I give Kudos to John Wall.

Turner will be a bust just like Steph Curry...oh wait..he actually turned out to be pretty decent.

Good for Wall. It sounds like he took school pretty seriously for the year he was there, which I commend.

I don't know which one I would take, because we've seen Rose in the NBA, but we haven't seen Wall in the pros yet. It's a little hard to compare the two.
