Who was the clown that came on here quite a bit and was severely butthurt about Capel getting canned?? Said Kruger would never get us to the promise land. Think he was from the Phoenix area. Where is he at now??

We had a couple of them, Boca and Capelfan52, who changed his name to Krugerfan52 or something like that. He's the same clown who only posted after we lost games in OT. He was quick to remind us of Capel's record in OT vs Krugers.

It was Boca, but I hope he enjoyed these past two games like every other OU fan deserves to. I went on record 5 years ago at this time supporting Jeff Capel for one more season. So what? I guess I don't win the prize for being right more than anyone else making predictions on the internet. Hopefully, I'm still allowed to enjoy this great season...if it's okay with everyone else.

He was banned because he is/was incapable of having any type of civil discourse....especially on the rivals/political board. OUHoops is a much better place without him.

Oh yeah, absolutely. I have no problem with your belief he deserved another season, though I disagreed with it 100%. You have since admitted the hiring of Kruger was a good hire and you still looked for positives his first few years when we didn't have a lot of them (positives) to find.

I think the OP was pointing at the posters who when Capel was fired never gave Kruger credit for anything. IMO.

Didn't ever go to the political board but as far as this one is concerned I believe info/opinions, no matter how diverse or how much I may disagree with them , are beneficial. I don't always agree with what's posted here...most of us don't.....but I like to see the different perspectives/takes from other posters. Boca is certainly hard to deal with at times but I never doubted he was a diehard Sooner who wanted nothing but success for our programs. He loves OU every bit as much as I, or any other alum.

I always liked the hiring of Lon Kruger. His name wasn't even mentioned when we were all wondering if Capel would be fired. Once that happened, I was pretty much determined to get behind whoever was going to be hired. Anyone familiar with Coach Kruger knew it wasn't going to be long before he had us back in the NCAA tournament. However, not in my wildest dreams did I seriously believe we'd be in the Final Four in Year 5 (it was Year 8 for both Billy and Kelvin).

I guess my point was that people who struggled giving Lon Kruger much credit still deserve to enjoy the success of this year's team. Perhaps they are finally realizing their loyalty towards Jeff Capel may have been a bit "misplaced".

I'm with you regarding the diversity of opinions/takes....it makes for a better forum. But when you resort to insults and personal attacks when you disagree with someone (as Boca did numerous times), then he was more than deserving to be sent packing.

Agreed. You and I had some disagreements during Capel's final few years and probably still disagree about how BG came to OU but we have agreed to disagree and have civil discourse about OU basketball. The forum is better for all of us coming together during those days and now this final 4 is for all of us on this message board "who helped keep the lights on in the LNC" when most thought the program was dead and gone. I don't think a single person posted on this message board who thought we would be in a final 4 in 5 years. If you go back to the end of last season, we had some of the posters mentioned in this thread (Boca, Krugerfan52 who was CapelFan52 and a few others) who basically said Lon was "treading water" and compared his NCAA tourney win % at that point to Capel, Tubbs and Sampson. So, to think anyone saw this coming is crazy.
