March Madness and Covid-19

It likely wouldn't be as volatile, but this is very hard to answer... There has been lots of misinformation and not enough specific information to try and calm the market..

The market was taking a hit no matter what.... but he is kind of like throwing gasoline on a flame because he still isn't taking it seriously enough or releasing specific information and plans.

How about the Italian markets. Explain how they are responding better. Explain how it is our president's fault.

What? What about what I said makes it sound like he created it? Obviously he didn't create the virus, and this sucks for everyone. Nobody wants this. I am being very negatively impacted by this, personally. This whole thing sucks.

I assure you there will be people who are more severely impacted than you but go ahead and make it about you. The selfishness that are people has no bounds.

You clearly aren't understanding my intent here... you are mad/upset about the situation, I get that.

I said what I said because I thought you were implying that I somehow WANTED this to happen. So I was making it clear that it sucks for everyone, nobody wants this, it's not fair for anyone, and its impacting me negatively. Absolutely it is impacting lots of people WAY worse than me.

If I misunderstood and you weren't implying that I somehow wanted this, I apologize.

I hope that clarifies my intent.

We should all probably take a step back here and calm down.

You are looking to the President for information on a new virus and how you should be responding, when you live in a state that at the time had 1 or 2 confirmed cases?

I find that VERY weird. I don't look to any President, not the current one or past ones, for how to act on anything. I'll never understand those that do. Yes, part of his job is to give information, but there wasn't much information to be given a week ago, regardless of what you and steve think/thought.

You all say it's not political, but I can tell from your posts you are anti-Trump Dems. Am I wrong? If you both aren't making it political, how can I tell that from your posts about a virus? Weird, huh?

EXACTLY where it is right now.

My gosh, the desire to protect Dear Leader from criticism is incredible. He came out and made statements last night that caused his staff to go out and walk back because they weren’t true. He said we would ban all goods from europe. Not true and they had to correct the record. It’s this lack of focus, mixed messages and uncertainty that are driving the markets into bull territory. Any kind of competent response would very likely have the economy in a much better place. This is not a political statement, btw, it’s an observation.

Weird that you think giving facts makes us sound like anti-Trump Dems

They just don't get it. They really don't and it is beyond sad. In fact it would be much worse because the high in the market would have been lower to begin with. Like i'm supposed to believe if Clinton were president that the top of the market would have been 29k before the slide downward. It is just a bunch of "common dense." It is purely embarrassing. These people have not a damn clue.

Even weirder that I could figure that out about you from your "non-political posts." Right?

Trump and the Fed government aren't the problem here. Just b/c YOU don't agree with some of the things being done and said, doesn't mean they completely missed the boat on their response.

They completely missed the boat in their response, fact. And the markets and the scientists agree with me.

What I am mad at is how people will whore out anything for their personal gain. Anything. I do not understand for a minute how hate is the solution.

We were the strongest economy before this started.

This is silly, what do we have to gain on a basketball message board?

I am not personally looking to the President for anything. We were talking about misinformation and calming markets.

You all say it's not political, but I can tell from your posts you are anti-Trump Dems. Am I wrong? If you both aren't making it political, how can I tell that from your posts about a virus? Weird, huh?

As POTUS, he is subject to criticism. As Steve mentioned, things he said in his presidential address were literally not true, and had to be walked back. He was being corrected by other professionals in another meeting he had on television related to this. He said we would soon have 0 cases and only had 15.

This kind of stuff is subject to criticism. I honestly don't know why this is partisan.

I support all the measures he has taken thus far, but I would like to see more. People familiar with the markets said the exact same thing.

Like i'm supposed to believe if Clinton were president that the top of the market would have been 29k before the slide downward

Nobody said that.. and I certainly don't believe that. The markets were going to take a hit no matter what. There are other variables in the market as well. The oil issue with OPEC/Russia, being one example.

Weird that you think giving facts makes us sound like anti-Trump Dems

It's weird that literally posting what he says makes you an enemy of of the administration or something. I don't get this.

People should be able to be wishful . "Hope and change" was wishful thinking.
