MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

Jalen is a solid player, that's all he is. Not special, just above average. I was always surprised when he would hit a three. Never improved his form, still shoots from his chin, I was money shooting that way in 8th grade 😄. Played with great effort which i liked but he's not going to be a go to guy unless it's at a small school.

You don’t need 5 go-to guys

Everyone pissed but Baylor just lost LJ cryer.
15ppg. Elite player.

Everyone dealing with this stuff.

I’ve heard Jalen will easily be able to get250k. Absolutely insane in my mind.

No way. I just can't buy that. To be an average dude? Whats the stars getting multi-millions? Ive heard basketball was no where near that bc football isnt even getting that across the board and football is the cash cow

I agree but … 12 guys vs 85….

Just saying F ball has a lot more guys to pay.

Soo…everyone keeps saying Moser is unpleasant to play for and unpleasant to coach under. Can anyone in the know either vouch for this or contradict this? I personally have no idea if it’s true or not…but if it is, that’s probably not the coach for this program. Just hoping for some insight into these rumors…

Buy it. It’s real. Park got $800k at Miami

250k for 9 ppg and 5 rpg? Ouch...if people are paying more than that then who WANTS to invest in basketball?

That said, if I could get a guard that averages 20 ppg for 300-400k I'd rather make that investment. LOL

Holy cow. Glad we lost that bidding war then.. Wants more than president money to get 9 and 5 and 29% from 3 (26% career from 3)?? No way. Anything above 80k is a steal for him basketball-wise. Good kid, but dang. We can spend better elsewhere surely

At least that guy gets 13 a game shooting 40% from 3 on a final four team (and came off a 17 ppg season shooting even better from 3 previously)

Because as we all know, basketball is about nothing more than scoring. Nothing else matters.

It’s so funny that Ryan Spangler is loved by so many on this board, but Hill is being trashed by so many as a guy who doesn’t provide much and won’t be badly missed. If we didn’t play at a snail’s pace, and if he had teammates like the 2016 team had, Hill’s numbers would have been better than Spangler’s. Add in the defense, and it’s hard to see how people don’t see this as a loss.

Hill stats on a poopy team < spangler stats on a stacked team imo

Yeah that comp isn’t even close. Spangs would destroy hill. Way too big and strong for hill, and he is a better shooter.

I didn't say a team needs 5 go to guys? PM treated him like one, many times after a time out he would work a play for hill to go one on one on the block. He won't be that guy at many places is all I'm saying.

Your numbers are off. Hill averaged 10 points (9.7, second only to Sherfield among returning players), 6 rebounds (5.8, tops among our returning players) and his 29% from deep was fifth on the team, better than TGroves, Bamisile, Oweh and Noland, three of whom are guards and are supposed to be able to shoot the three.

Plain and simple, by any measure, we're losing one of our best players, a defensive standout who would have been a fifth-year senior in the nation's toughest conference with experience that could have been invaluable in leading what will likely be a very young team next year. The contributions of a player like that cannot be summed up with three cherry-picked stats.

Id rather have him than not but not for 100k+. Dudes never seen a NCAA tourney and he never stepped up to be the player many thought he was on 2 bad teams now.

Also using Bam, noland, oweh and TG to boost his 3 shooting prowess is hilarious. You might as well include the team managers while youre at it. That doesn't somehow make hill's shooting good..

Indeed!

I agree 100%. There are a few folks on here treating this as no big deal. Losing Hill will only become a "no big deal" situation if PM is able to find a better (hell, just a suitable) replacement. Unfortunately, the track record so far would not leave me optimistic in thinking that a sufficient replacement will be found....but maybe he'll prove me wrong.

If Hill had Buddy and Isaiah and Woodard as his guards rather than Goldwire and Harkless and Noland, etc, his stats would have been been far better. And Spangler had one season where he shot the three well, and was a much worse FT shooter than Hill. Yet everyone seems to realize numbers don’t tell the full story with him. It’s not Hill’s fault he didn’t have better teammates and coaching.

He shouldn’t be asked to be a go-to guy, so I agree with that. He shot 50% on a terrible offensive team. He’d shoot higher if he was the 5th option like he should be. Elite defender, smart off ball player who will buy into being a role player. Easily a starter on a really good team.

If Hill was on the final four team, Spangler’s minutes would not have been reduced.
