At least you’re consistent. If you gage it so bad why come here every day?
Serious answer with all due respect would be appreciated
Is it honestly that difficult to understand, coach? I love OU basketball, take every loss personally, and hate to see the program struggle in every possible way. We are bad on the court, have lost several key contributors since Moser took over, have not been nearly as successful as most our opponents in bringing in talent from the portal (yes, I get it, Grant was an exception), are losing coaches every year, and are falling further behind our league rivals just about every day. Would you prefer that I be like most OU basketball “fans” and just lose interest and become totally apathetic when the team is struggling? Or should I ignore the evidence that shows that we are spiraling quickly? You seem to be blindly optimistic. You get offended when people criticize Moser, you shift the blame to players and call them front runners if they choose to look elsewhere, and act like Moser is doing a fine job.
My posts since I joined this board have been consistent in that they reflect the tone of the program. When we were routinely making the tournament and spending parts of just about every season in the top 25, I was blasted as being too positive by people who thought we should be even better. Now, I’m called out by you and a few others for being negative. I haven’t changed. What’s changed is the program. I honestly can’t see a single thing that makes me optimistic in the direction of the program, and I’ve yet to see anyone come up with anything other than “well we have signed a couple good high school classes.” That’s fine, but those classes still aren’t as good as many/most of our league opponents, and bringing in one or two good high school players a year won’t get it done in this era unless you are supplementing it with multiple portal guys who will step in and be major impact guys from day one.
If Moser can close the deal and sign two or three of the approximately 478 guys who some of you believe are better than a guy like Jalen Hill, and those guys come in and are true difference makers in the Big 12, then I’ll be the first to congratulate him and own up to being wrong. And if next season he shows that he can actually solve the late game issues and turnovers, I’ll credit him for that, too. I suspect it is far more likely that all those things will continue, and that many on this board will continue to make excuses and blame the LNC, NIL, and our lack of fan support.
