if I were Uzan, Oweh, Cole or Cooper, I'd have serious concerns right about now.

Why? They know they are likely upgrading.

For all we know the staff could be processing...telling people they need to go elsewhere if they want to play minutes. I don't know that but they could be.

Christ, we spend 3-4 days *****ing about Moser, *****ing about how this team sucks, *****ing about being last in the conference and as soon as the guys we WANT to leave enter the portal we ***** about that.

I'm not attacking you sky...just making a point about how much people on here ***** about everything and when we start to get what we, as a whole, WANT to get (potentially a better team) then we still *****.

The only guy I would like to see us keep that is leaving is Sherfield. He's like the only consistent shot maker we had last year. But he's not irreplaceable. Really outside of Sherfield the only guys I wanted back were Uzon, Oweh, Godwin. And they are coming back as of now. Need to find athletes and shot makers. Because the guys we lost weren't much of either one of those.

Last thing I say if we can't bring in guys then Porter is living on borrowed time.

Personally I am happy to see a blank canvas. Last years roster was a mess and we have an opportunity to right the ship. There are a lot of “ifs” and Moser needs to prove his portal recruiting chops, but I think there is actually more reason for optimism today vs any time in the past few months.

Guaranteed minutes is ALL Moser has to offer. And anyone who couldn't get minutes elsewhere is not likely to be a difference maker for OU.

If Moser was going to strip it down to the bare bones, he should have done that two years ago. Because at this point, we're on a four- or five-year schedule, which makes it seven total.

Exactly. It’s a problem if players like Jalen Hill leave or if players like JG leave. Porter can do nothing right

Well they’d want to come here if we’re competitive (or can be competitive) with NIL offers. The playing time is there. K State had 12 transfers right? And Moser isn’t stripping down to the bare bones, he’s kept the players that still can develop. Hill, Sherfield, and JG are all seniors, we know who they are but they’re also not good enough

Look at most of the guys leaving. Cortes may have had the most potential and he's not as good as Uzan and isn't good enough to play the 2 at a high level in the Big 12 so he's a bench guy here. Noland, Groves, Schroeder, never showed they can be Big 12 caliber guys.

I would like to have maybe kept Hill and Sherfield for one more year because those are guys you know what you are gonna get. But they only had one more year left.

We are keeping the guys we really need to build the team around right now in the recruiting class coming up and Uzan and Oweh. Godwin can be a good defensive role player on a decent team as well. Now I will agree it's gonna be tough finding guys but there's a ton of guys out there and you gotta start finding guys that can actually be athletic and have higher potential that what we had last year.

I suspect the top programs will find a way to still be good year in and year out. They will just have to do it in a different way. The roster turnover will be much greater than in the past, and some people will hate it. But I do think it will also give lower profile schools a chance to succeed if they can put together a good NIL package and/or selectively grab some of the players who leave elite schools because they aren't getting minutes.

While I agree with your post, I also believe this will be a very difficult task for programs like Oklahoma. We don’t have big basketball donors and we will struggle big time in this new world. OU hasn’t shown the ability to compete for high end basketball recruits in the NIL era.

I know society isn’t headed that way: but some still are. Not everyone is a front runner.

I'll get excited if and when we're winning Big 12 games next January and not before. He gets no more benefit of the doubt from me. I've seen nothing from him that gives me a smidgen of confidence, so he's going to have to pull off a major turnaround next season to win me over and that seems highly unlikely. Finishing .500 or being on the bubble isn't going to cut it. Because even if we are a little better next season, what assurance do we have that there won't be another exodus of our better players? It's happened two years in a row now.

Unless and until Moser demonstrates he's capable of working the portal to get equal or better players, it'll be a major concern from where I sit.

I would prefer Yaya move on but how do you know about Northweather? His tape shows some potential. It’s certainly not out of the realm of possibilities that he becomes a good player as an upperclassman.
