MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

Borderline, and debatable. Saw many Mocks not having him as a Lotto pick.

He shot only 28.2% from 3. It is doable was also my point.

Flipkowski wasn't exactly a stout defender either, and was rather slow outside the paint. But lol, if Duke did it amirite?

They had one guy who was a stud offensively and a lotto pick or very close to it. The other guy is an elite defender. So yes, with that personnel, it’s doable. If we can sign both of them, I’m all for it. With the two guys we are actually in the running for, it isn’t doable unless you want to get torched by every good team you play because you can’t guard them. Let’s think about this. If we had them this year, that would have meant one of them would have been guarding Dick, Wilson, or McCullar for KU.

Hugely is visiting Ole Miss tomorrow, so we didn’t get a commitment over the weekend.

If we land both Hugely and the Auburn big, unless the Auburn guy is okay coming off the bench (doubt he is), I definitely think you start them both. I’d call Hugely the 4, more in the mold of Kevin Bookout than Jalen Hill.

It’s prob not ideal, but if not him, then who? Cole won’t be ready to start, or maybe even play a lot. Cooper? That’s awfully small, and we’d be thin in numbers.

You can’t have Hugely, Traore(sp), Godwin, Northweather, and Keita all on the roster and only playing the 5. That math doesn’t work. I don’t know how a two big lineup would do in PM’s system, ut looking at the numbers we may be about to find out.

Don't think we'll get both Hugley and Traore, both will look for starting minutes. FWIW, I'd prefer we get Traore over Hugely.

I hate Hugley going to ole miss and wvu still.

I think we can wrap up small and Traore this week.

McCollum hopefully very soon.

So not really that good a week if we can’t close on Hugley. Losing him to one of the worst schools in the SEC would be incredibly disappointing, especially since we have all kinds of minutes to go around at the 5.

I'm sure Ole Miss would say the same thing. Ironic

McCollum has narrowed it down to OU, Nebraska, and South Florida. Not exactly a murderer’s row we are competing against. Would be less than ideal if we can’t seal that deal.

what??

you can't be serious at this point ..

ever hear of chis beard ??

i think he could help make OU elite defensively .. and i think OU will find guys to score points ..

but a rim protector is very very high on my list ..

The way Porter talks about having an elite defense during his Final 4 run, you would have to think he agrees as well.

I like Traore's athleticism......that is something that I've wanted to see here in bigs. I'd like to see us get another athletic big (my first choice has never changed and it would be Collins....I think he would be a perfect fit.).

Small
McCollum
Traore
Collins

would be good replacements for what we lost and I think would be a step in the right direction.

I've been concerned about this as well. Hugley seemed nearly secured, and it makes me wonder if this is related to Traore. Hugley and Traore (or Collins) would be a dream scenario, but if we have to pick one, it's not Hugley. I'd love to have him, but I'm not going to lose sleep over the loss of a 90s-style big. I don't want to be consistently relying on a below the rim post player for our offense. If refusing to give Hugley starting minutes led to us landing a 4 that can stretch the floor, I'd be all for it.
