MBB TPT2 TRANSFER PORTAL THREAD 2

I think Huggy Bear will do just fine with those guys.

Well see. Coaches regardless of ability still have to manage egos and expectations. Something i think well become exponentially important with every year making new quasi "all star" teams in free agency every year

Yeah, I think they can overlap a few minutes a half, but I don't see them as compatible against many teams for long minutes. I'm not convinced they compliment each other well defensively, but am probably even more concerned offensively. With the departure of Hill, one of the possibly advantages was being able to stretch the floor better, but neither of these guys bring that.

Having said that, would be stoked to have Traore and Hugley. I think they're very complimentary as the starter and backup at the 5 spot. A guy like Traore would have been very helpful on those games like OSU where Tanner was negated offensively.

Well.if one can make 31%+ of their threes they will spread the floor better than Hill.

One of them made 38 percent … of his free throws. The other attempts one 3FG per game in his career. I’m going to also guess neither can handle the ball like Jalen. And again, if anyone can show me a single 7’0” college guy who can legitimately guard on the perimeter, I’ll be stunned. I’d expect them to share the floor as often as Tanner and Godwin did, which is to say, never.

Is no news bad news with portal visitors or should we be on our knees praying for miracles?

I agree. Traore is a 5.

Northweather could play stretch 4 w a 5 but I doubt northweather can defend well enough next year.

Good for him… I liked most of his game. I think he was hamstrung a bit by moser. We’ll see

I agree. He was never going to be a superstar but I think he would have performed better under Lon. Hopefully he can develop at Wichita State.

I don't know that getting both solves our need for a 4 man.
We may still need one.

He's listed at 6'10, which is the same height Jabari Smith Jr was listed at in Auburn's loaded frontcourt of the past few years.

But yes, he's a 5. If we got them both, I'd like them to split roughly 20/20 at the 5, though I'm not sure how happy Hugley would be. But Traore is going to have to develop his outside game for the NBA, which is a legitimate target for him, so I'd be okay with us putting him out there at the 4 occasionally early in the season to encourage the skills he needs to develop.

Rivals main basketball dude reporting that his Okie State writer friend he knows thinks Small is ours.

Between Small, McCollum, Traore, and Hugley, I think our odds of getting all 4 are higher than only getting 1/4. If we go into next weekend without at least two of them, I'll admit to finally be a bit worried. Landing those would be a great offseason for Moser that exceeded my expectation.

I'd start them both depending on what else we had.

Duke started two 7 footers this year inside. Seemed to work fine, until Tennessee "played a physical game" with them.

Lol. If Duke did it, surely it would work for everyone. You realize one of their guys would have been a lotto pick if he came out this year, right?

Borderline, and debatable. Saw many Mocks not having him as a Lotto pick.

He shot only 28.2% from 3. It is doable was also my point.

Flipkowski wasn't exactly a stout defender either, and was rather slow outside the paint. But lol, if Duke did it amirite?

Yeah, but Duke's guys were top 5 five-stars and Traore is only a top 20 type five-star. Big diff
