saw on another board people stumping for Molly Miller to be the next head coach. Legit candidate? or no?

She is a very pretty young coach...that is why the Rivals crowd is mentioning her.

Today would be a great day to hire Molly Miller. Today or tomorrow.

“Miller’s teams defend with the intensity and trapping was her trademark as a player. The Panthers have guarded opponents from baseline to baseline while running a player-predicated motion offense that averaged 90.2 points per game this season. The entertaining style and success have made Drury one of the top Division II draws, ranking third in attendance last season at 1,768 fans per game despite only have 1,500 undergraduate students on campus and competing for Ozarks basketball fans with Missouri State.”

Might get her for little less than Sherri was paid. If she wanted to come here which is a big if

I am all in on this one. She would create more excitement than Sherri Coale did on her arrival.

I'm for this one. She lost 3 of the 7 losses to Cal Baptist which is another program on the rise and was undefeated in 20-21. GCU was not even on the radar before she arrived.

Question whether she would leave GCU after only one year on the job, but this appears to be a star on the rise. Just what we need.

I saw Mark Rodgers and Rad is following her on twitter. Rad wrote that article. I am sure Joe probably sees what is written about Oklahoma. Sorry Rad is not his name, but i didn't know how to spell it.

Good info, Mikeareese; thanks for posting it.

Miller would be a great hire. I’ve done a little research on her. Potentially great coach already. Think what she would be with D-1 talent. Apparently an aggressive coach and talented recruiter.

She’s more of a complete package than Sherri was when she was hired.

Because a lot of us want her, I’m worried that will jinx it.

Getting her to leave after a year at her current school — difficult but not hard. The buyout, even if we boosted it, can’t be that terrible.

Miller had signed a 3 year extension with Drury University in April 2019 which expired after the 2021-2022 season.

She in turn signed with Grand Canyon University in April, 2020 when she had 2 years remaining on her contract with Drury University and only 1 year after signing a contract extension.

I don't see her short tenure at GCU as a barrier to OU signing her to coach OU. To stay with GCU would necessitate her emotionally making an additional 2 year commitment to GCU to make the needed turnaround. You just cannot forgo a several hundred thousand dollar raise and an opportunity for a top power 5 conference job. Those opportunities are too rare for Division II coaches.

Even tightwad Joe C. knows he is going to have to likely pay for a buyout to get the high quality coach he wants. But with GCU being a private christian university we have no idea the terms of her contract.

Also listed the players Miller signed in her first GCU recruiting class most (4) were from the Kansas/Missouri area close to Springfield, MO where Drury is located.
