The new "hot" candidate emerges. Unfortunately the same fans that are voting for Pastner voted in previous polls for BCG and/or Buzz. Unrealistic.

Those of us who voted for Pastner did not make this poll. When compared to the other candidates listed, Pastner is overwhelmingly the favorite for this board.

I still think he and Buzz are in play, but we will see.

I would be okay with Pastner, but I find it a little ironic that so many here thought Capel was too green and now want to hire a guy that's been a head coach for only two years.

I shouldn't have used such strong words. I'm not putting fellow OU fans down, just saying some things aren't realistic and it seems like the most unrealistic names are the ones fans are voting for. It's going to make a lot of people upset.

NAIA wants Lon Kruger. Shows you how much this clown knows about Bball.

Haha clown, that's funny. I don't necessarily want Kruger, but it's realistic.

Pastner - not coming
Smart - not coming
Buzz - not coming
Stevens - not coming

Still don't think Buzz Williams is completely out of the picture. If not him, I like the Stallings guy from Vandy. Experienced, good level of success at Vanderbilt.

Capel had 1 year each as an assistant at ODU and VCU before becoming a head coach. Pastner had 6 years at Arizona and 1 at Memphis before becoming a head coach. Capel had zero coaching experience at a high major program. Pastner has 9 years coaching experience at high major programs. Pastner's resume is far superior to Capel's was when he was hired.

Shaka Smart just reminds me too much of Capel, not only because of the obvious VCU head coaching link, but just the way he conducts himself in interviews and his overall demeanor. He seems like a real nice guy, just one I'd have trouble taking seriously as the head coach at a big time program...

He's the guy that wants to be buddies first, and coach second. That sounds ridiculous but that's the vibe I get from him?

Anyway, between either Tad, Tubby or Lon, I think we'd be pretty alright.

EDIT: I should also say that I don't think Tubby is a realistic option...

Pastner is slightly more experienced. Slightly. And only because he was at Zona for six years, not because he's been the head coach at Memphis for a whopping two years.
