Naadir Tharpe To.....

Yes, it appears that he became their primary target for their point guard position.

Help, KU might not want a point as much anymore plus we still need a combo. I also wonder if this is a sign in the lack of faith in Selby's eligibility and Elijah Johnson.

I could be wrong but I'm guessing this has no effect on Nino Jackson whatsoever. Naadir is a straight PG, whereas I believe Nino is a combo guard meaning they can/will play together. Looking at KU's roster they stand to lose Taylor, Selby, Morningstar, Reed, and if anyone breaks out like Johnson by the time Nino is playing in college.

Now if someone like Paige were to pull the trigger for KU then I would really like OU's chances with Nino Jackson.

Ding, ding, ding.

KU is still all out for Nino and would take him in a heartbeat because he is the combo type guy that Self loves to have. If Paige goes for KU then Jackson won't be an option.

Selby's eligibility has nothing to do with offering Tharpe, Selby's likely a one and done guy. I think it is because they doubted they could get Jackson AND Page and also that their top target for '12 is Tharpes teammate Kaleb Tarcazewski.

Selby is a freshmen this year. Tharpe is in high school. Has no bearing on Selby playing this year. Tharpe was a backup plan for KU in 2011 so if anything I think it tells the PG's in 2012 class that they are important.
I like the signing of Tharpe though. He's the type of small kick PG that has kicked KU's butt over the years. Now we have a counter option.

Sulaimon is going to be a bigger influence on Jackson than Page. Rose and Sulaimon are more similar players to Jackson than Paige and Tharpe. Rose and Sulaimon are visiting UNC this week, but they are all high on UNC, Duke, KU, and OU.

Personally, if OU is going to recruit a guard in this class, I would prefer it be Josh Richardson or Kyan Anderson. I would like Richardson to get bigger and there is a chance he will.

Also, not to go all Abd on a thread, but one of the best point guard prospects might be less than an hour away from Norman in El Reno in Nurideen Lindsay.

Well, really any guard KU signs could affect Jackson, though i think Jackson is a different player than any of those mentioned. He is much more of a combo guard than any of the others. Paige and Rose have been pegged as PG's and Sulaimon as a SG.

I think Jackson would still sign even with another of those guys on board. It will be interesting though and it's definitely a case that Capel could make in that KU will be stacked. I mean, they had Elijah Johnson (top 25 recruit and Top 5 PG) riding the pine last year.

I heard about that... good work! :)

Ardmore + Love + KU Recruiting a bunch of guards = We have a chance.

It's not the fact that he's a different type of player, but if you sign Tharpe then you sign Sulaimon, and your a combo guard pretty much the same size as those two guys, you're going to have playing time issues if those guys pan out to be good players. So now you're talking about Tharpe, Sulaimon, Johnson, maybe Paige, it's going to be tough. Sulaimon may come off the table this weekend if Duke offers.

Yeah, that's basically what I was trying to say. KU tends to get guards to sign despite the numbers but it could definitely hurt KU with Jackson.
