NBA Playoffs: Conference Finals Thread

Losing Ibaka might help instead of hurt. The way they are playing Westbrook & Durant need the ball as much as possible.

The Pacers might be the hardest team to decipher this post season.

everybody has to deviate from the norm.

Are you guys still really split on the Thunder and Spurs like you were with the Clippers or do most people now favor the Thunder? Personally, I like both the Spurs and Thunder but I would prefer the Thunder to win it all.

Has anyone heard anything about Parker? He left the last game with a hamstring injury.

I'm pulling for a Pacers/Spurs final.

7 of 24 from the field for Westbrook.

That is his 6th or 7th terrible shooting game in 14 playoff games.

THAT is why I don't consider him a top 7 or whatever player in the game. His good is good enough, for sure. But he is bad far too often. Needs to clean up the consistency.

Thunder can't play defense and are getting out coached badly. Durant is a scorer only. They need to say goodbye to Perkins and 2-3 others.

Sucks for OKC that they will probably still keep Scott Brooks, even though he's the reason they are down 2-0. With or without Ibaka, the results would be the same. The games might have been closer, but still both would be losses.

Not a single post from the Thunder homers since this series started? I hope none of them sprained an ankle jumping off the bandwagon!!

The Thunder need to develop a post offense. Brooks is doing the best he can with the personnel at his disposal. Durant has to add the post up game.

I think most "Thunder Homers" knew without Ibaka it would be tough. I am dissapointed with how easy it has seemed for the Spurs, but just like last year without Westbrook, we knew it would be tough.

Look at the HeaT, Without Wade, or without Bosh they would not longer be favorite to win. They may still have a very realistic chance, but no longer favored. That is how I look at the Thunder. Withougt Ibaka, they are not the favorite to win.

And for my Thunder Homer gripe of the day. I think that the officials are allowing to many reach in fouls to go uncalled for when driving to the basket. Even Reggie Miller commented that Westbrook was getting hit in the face over and over. But I am also sure that the Thunder would be called for some the reaching in the do so it would probably not make a difference.

And if the Thunder do not turn this around and make it aleast a close series, I would have to say I wish the clippers would have one the last series. As big as a Thunder Homer I am, I would rather have Griffen when a title then the Spurs. And I do not mean the clippers I mean Griffen. I could care less about most of the other clippers.

What Thunder fans don't realize is that Ibaka is not needed to beat the Spurs. The Mavs took them to a game 7, without a shot blocking presence in the middle. The majority of the time the Mavs' front line consisted of Dirk and 6'6 Dejuan Blair. Both of which are not defensive minded.

The Heat beat the Spurs in 7 without any presence in the middle at all.

If you want to beat the Spurs you have to outscore them 4 out 7 games. You can't stop them. Even if Ibaka was playing, it wouldn't be enough to outscore the Spurs. OKC's 2 v 5 offense won't beat the Spurs or the Heat.

Obaka is the Thunder's best offensive player, so he is definitely missed.

On the whole, though, I agree with you. Serge is the only post player on the Thunder's roster who is a threat to score. Adams has the potential to be a good player someday. Collison is past his prime, and Perkins is one of the worst centers in the NBA. He can't score and he can't defend at a high level anymore. I have no idea what Presti and Brooks see in him?

I have said this before and I'll say it again, the Thunder will never be a legitimate contender for a NBA championship with Perkins at the five. They need to deal him to anyone dumb enough to take him in the off season.

Call me a sour grapes Clippers fan (I know, I know) but I do get some satisfaction watching Westbrook cry like a preteen to the refs while the Spurs dominate in every facet of the game.

I just find it amusing after a bunch of my Oklahoma Thunders brothers and sisters kept jabbing at the clips for doing the same thing.

I don't think Brooks is a particularly good coach, but he isn't the reason they got beat by 30.

I find it annoying by Clippers, Thunders and anyone else. I do like to laugh at chris paul though. He is alittle over the top with complaining. I do give some leway if there was a legitimate no call, but not every bump is a foul and don't cry wolf.

Ibaka is needed to beat the Spurs. He is an efficient scorer that the Spurs have to guard with someone other then Duncan, as he would wear duncan out. This pulls the other forwards away from the basket. If Perkins blocks duncan out then Thunder have a great chance for the reboud with westbrook and Durant. Defensicly he forces teams to play a big man to block him out. I don't think he makes up 10 to 30 points on D.

But if Parker shoots a 10 footer instead of a layup, then Ibaka has done his job. Even if Parker makes it. That is the team is missing. Jus the threat.

Dallas has so many more offensive weapons that actually decide to play this year then OKC, they don't have to have play as good defence.

Also in the earlier games with Spurs and Thunder, spurs did not run as much as they are now. They tried ball control more. Maybe its just a change in idea, or maybe Ibaka had a hand in the style.

perkins isn't even close to being the thunder's main problem. You may have said it before but it was wrong then too. He isn't the problem.
