NCAA Tourney the Thread

It could be a long night for KU, also could be a long night for UNC.

Yeah. I don't think Kansas is that much better than UNC at this point. Again, if they get beat bad it's because of the emotional toll Saturday took on UNC.

Kentucky sure was the better team in Allen Fieldhouse by 18. And they're ranked 6th in Ken Pom. Not sure why we're using Ken Pom by the way.

It is ridiculous to suggest that the only way KU could beat them badly is if UNC is emotionally spent. If a team isn't able to get its emotions dialed back up for the national title game, there is something wrong with them. This is the ultimate hedge: you say that the matchups favor UNC, but just in case they lose badly, make a before-the-fact justification. This is the same UNC team that got soundly beaten by VA Tech in the not-too-distant past. If one team boat races the other tonight, it won't be because one team wasn't emotionally engaged.

Second, who cares what UK did to KU in one game six 9 weeks ago? Doesn't a 40-game sample carry more weight? Of course UNC is better now then they were for most of the season. You know who else is? Kansas. Martin was basically a nonfactor for the entire regular season, but he has been huge in the postseason.

I desperately hope KU loses by 100. But they are rightfully the favorite.

Again, Duke was the favorite on Saturday. I guess they were just head and shoulders better too? Oh wait. They were and still lost. I'm not hedging ****, because I haven't said UNC will win have I? Nope. I swear, it feels like you're getting in your feelings and just want to argue. Martin was trash vs Nova. Nice job ignoring that. I don't think anything carries weight much into the Tournament if we're honest. Saint Peters wasn't top 100 in Ken Poms ratings and got through Kentucky, Purdue, and Murray State. March is a different beast and as we've seen over the Tournament. The Regular Season doesn't mean much because the ACC CLEARLY was a better conference than most in the country.
 
Haven't liked North Carolina since 1990 when I listened on the radio as Rick Fox beat us when we were a #1 seed.

Apparently your reading comprehension skills need work. I’ve never suggested that Carolina can’t win tonight. I’ve said that it’s incorrect to suggest that they match up favorably. I haven’t ignored any results. I’m looking at 39 games Kansas has played and 38 played by UNC and saying that Kansas is the better team and that the matchups doesn’t favor UNC. Again, for the hundredth time, that doesn’t mean Carolina can’t win tonight. And while you can pout to upsets in the tournament, there is a reason high seeds almost always end up in the FF. The better team wins more often than not.
 
Our Roy Williams twitter feed is on fire because the coach Roy Williams doesn't have a twitter so people always tweet at TRRW when talking about Roy Williams. It's been a running joke for him for years. Like when Coach Roy retired he was getting a lot of congrats messages and just playing it up. Well since it's Carolina vs Kansas and the history there TRRW is having fun with it and changed his profile pick to one with his face photoshopped on to a Coach Roy Williams photo.

I really hate the elevated court and dome. It’s just not natural for a basketball game. Not a fan.
 
North Carolina is destroying Kansas and Manek may have a shot at winning the MVP for this tourney. It's probably him or Love.

Kansas will win going away, sadly. But I’m glad Hubert Davis tried his best to conserve timeouts for the offseason rather than using them earlier to stop a run that everyone who has ever watched Kansas play could see coming. The first three minutes of this half decided the game.
 
Game has turned. KU will win. Cheaters do prosper in college basketball. The biggest cheaters prosper the most.
 
Last 3 NCAA Tournaments Big 12 has 2 Natty's and a finalist.
 
Disgusting. Kansas is the devil so it's fitting in these times..
 
Kansas is about to turn it over. UNC will have a shot at the 3 to tie.

There is no justice in college athletics. KU cheats their asses off and always has and never gets punished. OU sends too many texts and gets ***** slapped.

College athletics is a ****ing organized crime racket. Some schools are “made” and others are made examples.
