I agree. From what I've read over the years, the BOR gives Joe C. the freedom to choose coaches. He keeps them up to date but he has more freedom than a lot of other athletic directors. That's one reason, he has been able to keep everything involved with a coach search close to the vest.

I don't buy it and I hope I'm right. i can't stand the guy.

I hope not. I have nothing against him but not my ideal guy. Seems like an odd choice and somewhat odd that he would accept.

Obviously getting him would be pretty big. You can personally dislike him all you want but he has 2 national titles and other appearances in playoffs and NC games. So obviously he would be a home run hire. I just don't believe he would leave Clemson for one second.

the only reason he would is if he realizes you need to be in one of these mega conferences or your program will be hurt. He might see the writing on the wall

Dabo would be crazy to leave Clemson for OU. He has a cakewalk to the playoff every year if his team is any good at all. He's not coming here.

Dabo Sweeney coming is almost as ridiculous as the notion that Cliff Kingsbury would leave the Cardinals to coach at OU!

How do these off-the-wall rumors get started? The crazies on social media seem to come out of the woodwork to post the most nonsensical ideas they can dream up. And, of course, if it’s posted on FB or Twitter it’s got to be true! :ez-laugh:

I told my best friend last night I believe rival fans start these insane rumors so they sit back and laugh at our fans losing their collective minds on social media.... I have seen so many fake tweets, flight itineraries, and super secret reliable sources posted in the last two days, it makes my head spin. We will know when we know.....

I couldn’t agree more! The so-called “insiders” on some of these web sites, and even the sports reporters on the print and broadcast media, are biting on the false reports hook, line and sinker.

Heck, I bit too! I kept waiting for the “announcement” about our new football coach at last night’s game. :ez-laugh:

I have been incredibly busy all week with no time to check on the search all day. It has been a huge blessing. By the time I get home, it seems like I've missed five different "imminent" coaching hires who are later ruled out.

From what I've heard, Joe C is doing due diligence interviews, but BV is the likely candidate. Announcement is likely Sunday afternoon, as Joe C might interview Luke Fickell after his conf. championship game.
