Newell Left Team: Confirmed via Shinn/Emig

Can someone please shoot down this rumor going around? Someone has said that he informed Kruger yesterday. Only thing I have heard is that he has a concussion and might not play Friday, which is a far stretch from quitting the team.

Disclaimer: This is from a premium board on another site. The info is from a regular poster that I believe is a student at OU. Said he is friends with someone inside the program.

Won't believe it until I hear something official.

Hope this is not true but would not surprise me. Newell has shown enough at OU that he could probably get a much better scholarship offer from transferring back east than he received out of prep school.

I would say his light has been pretty green at OU. LK might have jumped him a bit that last game, but I can't imagine any coach at a decent school would okay the first two shots he took in that game.

Hoping this isn't true, b/c we don't have the depth to overcome this this year.

This comes completely from left field and I can't help but think it's pure fiction... hopefully.

He's in juco at Paris Junior College until next year.

Taylor transferred to Paris JC and signed with Marquette. I believe he will be with them next year.

Especially now?? He will have to redshirt no matter what, so I he was going to leave why not get all the PT he could and leave in Spring and sit his year?

He would miss one year but would be eligible second semester next year, if he goes to another D1.

Newell has more pure potential for the college game than any other player on this team. It would be a huge loss. He could have been JR Raymond.
