Re: >>>>>Oklahoma vs. Omaha Gameday Thread<<<<<

Pace was not the reason for bad defense.

And better teams won't allow us to play that way and be as successful. Our D has to get better. But we've been saying that for a while now.

of course it has to get better but warriors are doing just fine with lackluster defense.

Played 12 guys and played a team that wont shoot that good from 3 all year... Understand what youre saying though!

I think teams will try to slow us down but without much success at times. We are still a young team!

Man, this could be a VERY, VERY long season. Same crap, different toilet, in terms of lousy defense. They will have to follow the football teams M.O. and outscore everyone. Problem is, they don't have a Baker Mayfield on their roster. Yes, it is the first game, and OU won, but it only gets tougher from here.

Maybe you need to take the advice you gave everyone a few days ago. I agreed with you back then.

In all seriousness, with how bad OU was last season, adding Young and expecting miracles this quickly was not fair to the team. Give them a few games to get right.

It’s not that I don’t agree with you about our defense. This team has a lot of work to do on that end of the floor, especially in defending the three. But it’s way too early to say this is going to be a “VERY, VERY long season” and then call what you saw on defense “the same crap, different toilet” as last year.

What we’re seeing now shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. It’s definitely not to me. It’s a well known fact that LK experiments with different lineups early in the season. Eleven players saw action in yesterday’s game—ten of them logged double figures in minutes played.

Why not take your own advice and give these kids a few games to get it right before throwing in the towel?
