OU at KSU Game Thread

Kornet is having an absolutely horrible year. She shouldn't be on the court right now.

Here's an idea -- dont repeatedly go to, and stay in, a pathetic, poorly executed 2-3 zone when your opponent is bombing your guts out and hitting 50 percent from behind the arc.

Sherri was outcoached terribly tonight.

Two weeks ago I thought this team might tank and then the ladies fought hard and win a couple and I say, OK, I was wrong.

It appears after tonight that I wasn't wrong. There is something dreadfully wrong with this team. It's the worst team in years. Sherri and her staff are doing a sorry job this year too, it seems. She has all but admitted after those losses that she doesn't know how to fix it.

This team, full of experienced tested seniors doesn't deserve to be in the tournament. At this rate we'll be playing in the first game of the Big 12 tournament and then this season will thankfully be over.

Another loss to a team we had absolutely no business losing to. So goes Vegas, so goes the team - and we saw a definite lack of hustle. Kay Kay needs to get her head into it and play like she is capable.

Our zone sucks, and that's being kind. A team the makes 2 or 3 quick passes will have the benefit of a wide open shot without fail.

We should not lose just because Aaryn is having a cold shooting night but we do. Thank goodness Griffin had a great night or we would have gotten killed.

Our rebounding is bad.

I'm going to repeat, we have a recruiting problem! We should not be paralyzed just because one shooter is cold. We should have more players who can shoot. We should have players who go hard after every rebound.

Last but not least, I think this has been Sherri's worst bench coaching job in at least 10 years. Hopefully, she gets back to her old self and starts making better moves. If not, playing OSU, Baylor, and Texas will not be pretty.

well, it's good to see that some of you also chose to watch the women instead of the Thunder victory over the Heat. Misery loves company, heh. :(

2002 was OU basketball's high point, wasn't it? I'd like to think the year Blake and CP3 got the SI cover together was, but that might be giving Capel some credit and I definitely don't want to do that.

I wish I had enjoyed 2002 more... and I really, really loved 2002 a lot :(

I have to agree - our zone defense is horrible. It seems the guards are so concerned with helping on the inside they can't get to the open shooter on the outside (Note to Sherri: The ball is faster than the person).

OSU and Baylor could very well be blow-outs. If we can't stop a [fairly] slow K-State Freshman (Romero) from hurting us with penetrating into the lane, there's no way we'll stop Bias and Simms...

We have KU right after those two. I remember when that used to be a gimme on the women's side:(:(:(:(

2002 was a high point for me as well, but 2009 was higher because of more talent/skills and the talent/skills were in place to go back to the championship game. SC was out-coached in the FF of 2009 by Louisville's Walz. I think there was even a potential to win it all, but you really have to know how to constantly adjust versus UCONN.
