21 (5.3 rpg) .. Brady Manak

Scoring Leaders (4 Games)

65 (16.3 ppg) .. Christian James
53 (13.3 ppg) .. Brady Manak
39 (_ 9.8 ppg) .. Rashard Odomes
37 (_ 9.3 ppg) .. Khdeem Lattin
34 (_ 8.5 ppg) .. Kameron McGusty
31 (_ 7.8 ppg) .. Hannas Polla

Rashard Odomes had a very productive trip. He is in the top-4 in all three categories above.

Every player on the 12 man roster averaged at least 10 minutes per game.

If you look at the stat sheet linked above, you will note that Kristian Doolittle had the least playing time, with 43 minutes (10.8 minutes per game). Further examination will reveal that he was very productive given his limited minutes.

This could be a very good free throw shooting team, but Hannas and Jamuni need to focus more from the line.

(In the final game) Junior guard Christian James produced 13 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting. James displayed pinpoint accuracy the past week, making 12-of-13 3-pointers (.923) and 22-of-31 total shots (.710) to average 16.3 points.

Doolittle without a missed shot.

This team is obviously improved by alot. Besides James, I can't quite quantify how much the holdovers have improved. What Trae brings is obvious. Manek is a huge bonus. Polla better than I thought. Lazenby will be serviceable.

My dilemma regarding this foreign tour is I can't tell how good any of these teams were. I mean a couple you could tell easily that they were overmatched. Last foreign tour there was some pretty stiff competition. I think OU actually lost their last game in Belgium. How do those teams compare to these? Is OU really this good? It's probably, of course, somewhere between... At any rate I'm very excited!

Go Christian james!

Christian needs to stay in Australia until the season starts. He is a rejuvenated man and good for him. The rebounding edge was quite large throughout. Athleticism showed itself in that account.

I watched Polla in all of the European U20 tournament games and he shot free throws very well. Close to 75%. I was actually impressed with how soft his shot was. Almost a 2 handed shot with good rotation. One game he was 9-12 and another 7-11. Worst was 2-6. One was 6-6.

I think he will be fine.

Christian has been unbelievable in all four games. So happy for him!

By the way, where were you last night...uh, this morning? Couldn't hang with the old guys, eh? ;)

When the opportunity arises you take advantage of it if you know what I mean.

Obviously this is just a foreign tour exhibition, so debatable what could or should be gleaned from it. There were two guys I was super excited about last year, Kristiann and Kam. And i never thought I would say this, but if CJ can carry this over... Not perfect 3 point shooting that's ridiculous, but just playing and scoring great... He should start over Kam. The thing is CJ brings other things Kam doesn't right now.. steals, rebounds, etc. I'd like to see Kam get more rebounds, steals, assists.. I realize this is only 4 exhibition games. But James showed what all he can do, scoring, and all the other stuff.

I have had similar thoughts about rewarding CJ for his play (especially his hot shooting) on this tour. I have also asked myself if, given a choice, would I put more pressure on him by naming him as a starter? I think I might leave him right where he is for now. Every team needs a player capable of providing instant offense off of the bench.

You think Doolittle and Mcgusty had limited minutes because they needed the least work? Maybe Lon knows what he has in those two?

19.8 minutes per game for McGusty is not limited minutes. I doubt that is the reason

CJ has really sacrificed to get his body in tremendous shape. I do not know if that has helped his shot or not.

I hope his confidence stays high and his shot selection is great.

Great to see CJ's offseason work paying off. Outstanding 3 pt shooting on the trip.

The last team they played was the best that they played. We played well that day.

something I noticed from the Cairns Taipans game recap:

Tamuri Wigness was a bright spark in the encounter, as he suited up in Taipans colours for the first time, and added 10 points, two rebounds and two assists.

...

“I thought Tamuri was electric. For a 15-year old kid to go out there and play like that, with that confidence, is really exciting for him and for us as a club,” said Fearne.

That's pretty impressive stuff! I wonder if Tamuri is US college eligible? Is he a pro, or playing as a junior invite?

Texas beat the Taipans this morning 71-69. Looks like the Taipans had two imported players play that did not play against the Sooners (Dayshon Smith & Michael Carrera).

Dayshon Smith played 0 minutes.
