OU committ Matt freeman

No doubt relationships are more important than sports. But, a good relationship will withstand a separation and in a good relationship, one person doesn't want to limit their loved ones dreams.

How many people end up marrying (and having that marriage last) their gf at 16-17 years old?

Not very many. Simple math says it's a bad idea.

Payton de-committed with the intention of going to Gonzaga. Oregon didn't get back in till then and Oregon is where he will probably end up.

I don't think Kruger would have kept recruiting him if that were true.

Not saying Gonzaga wasn't in play, obviously that is closer to home than OU, but the GF is/was the main reason. I've actually heard that second hand from somebody within the OU program.

You'd like to think the addition of McGusty and Freeman since Pritchard decommitted might
be an added incentive to Pritchard to recommit.
top 50 shooting/scoring guard = future backcourt duo
top 50 PF/stretch four = PF who can help space the court.

I think at this point that added incentive is going to be for the next PG prospect down the list for 2016, a potential graduate transfer after next season, or a top shelf, high level 2017 PG not named Trae...

Wt. I know people. I inquire. I hear things. My information is well sourced and is accurate.

This is the kind of thing that's impossible to place on someone else's decision making process. I started dating my wife when I was 16. We're together 20 years later. The numbers might be slim, but I would have been miserable if I hadn't played them.

It would be worse for him to miss an opportunity to marry his lifelong partner than to miss playing basketball at the University of Oklahoma, especially considering he can play high D-1 ball wherever his GF ends up...

Gary, we've missed you. Welcome back. As a reminder, Gary probably attends more practices than any board member except for maybe Traveler. The team and staff know him and are comfortable with him. I'm sure he's talked with someone closely connected to the program.

I am with you. My spouse and I started dating in junior high and have been a couple for 24 years and married 16. Best decision of my life staying with her. Not everyone's decision is the same.

If we get Pritchard, great. If we don't, oh well.

Great find. Thanks for sharing. It seems that Matt Freeman may have more basketball skills than a typical OU big man recruit, but less athleticism.

It was interesting to see some OU basketball highlights in a TV sports report from New Zealand.

I agree. First, it was a good video clip that coachtalk found of Freeman. I liked his ball handling for a big man. Secondly, it looked to me in the 3x3 clip that he was reasonably athletic. I remember last spring when we saw clips of Joey Brunk, there were some comments about him playing below the rim. Freeman has better hops and range than Brunk.

I think he will be a good complement to Lattin, Manyang, and McNeace in 2016-2017. After hearing the comments about Steven Adams, it assured me is very solid to OU. Great addition.

I think he is a lot different than those 3. He is more of a guard imo. Not a true PF. He can shoot it far better than those 3. Those 3 are more 5's than guards.

I know everyone likes pegging guys as numbers!

That's why I think he complements the other 3 posts. They have opposite strengths and weaknesses. Makes for a good post tandem..... Although he could play a wing offensively, I'm not sure he can guard a quick 6'5" wing out on the floor.

It sure will be fun to find out this coming January.

I think a good stretch 4 is quite the get especially if he adds some weight and can rebound like Ryan. Hopefully Ryan will find his 3pt stroke this year, it makes his picks much more effective by bringing his man way out of the post. Big men and skills are a great combination.

Then I agree with you 100%!
