*******OU-George Mason Game Thread*******

The announcers seemed to be pro-George Mason throughout the entire game. When they praised us it was more of an apparent slam on GM such as they couldn't guard us off the dribble.

John Feinstein, who did the color, is more of a baseball guy. I believe he issued a comment or two on the Robinson Cano situation....it didn't have much to do with what was going on in our game, but I found it kinda funny. He and the play-by-play guy are obviously D.C. guys and were pretty well versed in GM basketball as well as Maryland and GW. They didn't know much about our team, but by the end of the game, Feinstein paid OU a pretty good compliment...I'm paraphrasing "this OU team only loses 2 seniors, they are a team that is going to have to be dealt with in years to come".:OUbball-logo:

As a sidenote, Feinstein wrote "Season on the Brink".....which documented Indiana university's 1985-86 season and the trivialities of Bob Knight in his heyday. I recommend it....it's a really good read. As a matter of fact, he has written several good books. He is a very gifted author.

I'm at the end of the first half now, and I'm enjoying Feinstein's work pretty well. And he and the play-by-play guy have been very complimentary of OU, I think. I expected much worse based on what I read here.

And oh man, was Ryan Spangler a man today. My goodness, he seems to be everywhere at once when there's a rebound to be grabbed.

Overall, I think the team looks terrific in this game.

i thought he very enjoyable to listen to ..

I thought I was listening to the pbp crew for GM, but they were very complimentary to OU. It was good exposure for us to an area of the country that probably doesn't see us very often - and a win against a respected mid-major.

I think the guys were a little bit homer but not as bad as some. I have read Season on the Brink and have a copy. My son was attending Indiana and we present when Bobby threw the chair.

I thought the one handed rebound by Spangler was just awesome.
