i wish Buford could get over the hump and play consistently.

Re: >>>>>>OU-Kansas State Gameday Thread<<<<<<

No bench is going to catch up with us!

Re: >>>>>>OU-Kansas State Gameday Thread<<<<<<

I get the feeling that some of you would balk at Kate Upton because of a freckle.

At the end of a conference game, I look up at the scoreboard, and if we've got more points than them that closes the book on the game. W. Move on.

There are exceptions. The wisdom tooth extraction in the 2003 Big 12 Tournament comes to mind, but if you play a conference game that is never closer than eight points for the final 37-38 minutes.....you should probably find some other concerns.

+1

Considering the potential for this game to be a trap game, I was very pleased.

We won and got some extended minutes for the bench. Win-Win!

Those Verlander pics weren't the most flattering.

Just sayin.

It depends on what the ultimate goal is. If it's to make the NCAA Tourament, maybe even win a game once we're there, then I completely agree. If the goal is the Final Four, then a couple of potential red flags are surfacing. The odds of making the Final Four without an adequate bench is very slim. While I'm not saying our bench is inadequate (yet), I think most of us thought it would be a little further along at this point in the season than they are now. It's also not unreasonable to believe today would have been a good opportunity for somebody off the bench to really step up.

All in all, there's a lot to be both happy and excited about regarding this team, but it's human nature to pay attention to the elephant in the room.

Never heard of her.

I for one am just glad to get a W against KSU. Those Marcus Foster shots replayed from last year hurt.

Re: >>>>>>OU-Kansas State Gameday Thread<<<<<<

Drove down for the game. Was pleased overall. Hopefully, we can clean up the turnovers (most of the season). You can tell teams are scouting us to throw the ball backwards while driving to the basket.

Well stated....agree 100%

Re: >>>>>>OU-Kansas State Gameday Thread<<<<<<

We have seen tonight's pattern several times this year. A great smothering help defense and great movement on offense gets us a good lead.

Then the backups come in and the effort may still be there but the execution is spotty. The lead fades away and sometimes we never get back to that opening energy. One issue is that it is human nature to relax with a big lead that early in a game.

But the early minutes you see just how good we can be. If we can get to where the backups can at least play even with the opposition long enogh for the starters to get their legs back under them we could begin really scorching teams.

Some were complaining about the reserves playing and giving up the lead, While that is troubling it is the only way we can get the backups to be productive by post season. Kruger is always thinking long term. This year it is a balancing act of staying enough in front while giving the backups all the minutes he can.

Some exciting possibilities. Hope it works out.

Re: >>>>>>OU-Kansas State Gameday Thread<<<<<<

Win is a win but they sure didn't look like a top 25 team today

Wow, you were on quite the Nervous, Negative Nellie tear during this double-digit win.
