Re: >>>>>>>OU-Mid America Christian Gameday Thread<<<<<<<

I know it's only exhibitions and we are not running regular lineups, but I'm a little disappointed in our defense in our two exhibitions.
Hopefully the guys turn it on when the real games start.

I am not getting the game but seeing a guy 11-15 from field made me cringe a little.

My only disappointment was in the way we defended the perimeter. MACU had wide open shots from three the entire game. That has to change going forward or we will lose to teams who shouldn't be on the same court with OU.

I don't like, cousin as the dominant pg.

I don't want to overreact to a November game which doesn't count, but Cousins just doesn't look comfortable running the point. I'm beginning to think that the increased time at PG is to give him some reps since he is the only backup Woodard has.

There wasn't a lot to like from the defensive end tonight, but I didn't get the impression there was a lot of emphasis on that side of the ball. I'd like to think we'll turn it up a couple of notches on Tuesday.

Only getting to start watching now: ugh. Bob Carpenter's doing the game (and a former player who has no connection at all to OU).

That was Kevin Henry, a pretty good 2-guard at New Mexico via Denton, Texas, in the late 1990's. I thought he sounded pretty good. He must be living in the OKC area or something. His wife also played hoops for UNM and was probably the best-looking women's basketball player in the Mountain Time Zone back in her day.

I didn't think much of him, but it was apparently his first televised broadcast.

Which leaves me wondering why a) OU didn't hire a former Sooner for the gig and b) if they were going to hire an "outsider," why they hired someone with no experience at all. Sometimes it seems we aim awfully low.

Ryan's hair looks like I cut it while he was running on a treadmill. ;)

I have to say, based on last night's visuals, that Ryan's new haircut looks a lot better dry than it does sweaty. I mean, most haircuts do, but his is an extreme example.
