I am not old enough to remember that game from 2003 I believe, but when texing my father after the game he said the win tonight reminded him of the big 12 title against mizzou in the sampson era. Big lead, lost the huge lead, but found a way to win it in the end. Although this game had much better offenive production, I hope the reminder means we are back as a top tier team in the big 12. :fitz had some nice jumpers, and :neal looked great from the bench, and I love the character he brings to the team

Actually, that was one win I hope to never see again in my lifetime. Someone will correct me if I'm exagerrating a bit, but I don't think OU made a single basket in the last 14-15 minutes of the game. We made a bunch of foul shots to hold them off...and Hollis got hurt which cost us any legit chance of running the table in the Dance. The only OU WIN I ever saw which left a bigger sour taste in my mouth than that one was the 1st round NCAA Tournament win over E. Tennessee St. back in 1989.

That game was entire half of incompotent offense. Except we had talented players.

I would love to win another conference tournament title, however it looks or how ugly it is.

OU led by 22 with 15 minutes left and never made another basket. Held on to win 49-47. It was brutal to watch. Last night's game was nothing like it. We shot over 50% last night and evenly scored 38 and 36 points in each half.

Stop that. I'm too young to feel old.

My thoughts exactly.

As I recall we led Missouri 46-23 at one point and won 49-47. It was about as close to an unsatisfying conference tournament title as you can get.

Also that was part of a stretch where we really had Missouri's number in the postseason. We beat them in 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002 (Elite Eight), 2003, and 2005. And every game was close.

Yep.
A far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a conference regular season title. So I say we just go ahead and do it this year.
If we avoid Kansas, is there anybody else that we wouldn't be a push or better against on a neutral floor?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This, Hollis wasnt the same after that game.

I was in the AAC for the game and was on the 3rd row up under the basket in which Hollis was taken out by a cheap shot. Brutal second half....just awful offense.

I will never forget being at that game. I just about had a stroke in the stands during the second half. One of the craziest games I have ever attended.
