OU offers 2018 PG Franco Miller Jr

Also has an offer from Oregon, I believe.

It's interesting to see these offers the last few days. It seems like the team is trying to use that last scholarship and that maybe these last 3 guys are good enough to warrant using it and not saving it.
 
I like his size.....perhaps Buddy can put in a good word for OU;)
 
If he is a HS senior, how would that affect the '19 kid we have committed, Harmon? I thought that was the whole point of getting one year grad transfers...

Confused me too until I realized Miller is not a point guard. He’s listed as a “guard” or a “shooting guard” on most of the web sites I checked. Two have him listed as a PG.

I think that happens when someone on those sites decides a 6’ 2” guard is too short to be a SG, so they list him as a PG and the listing automatically stays with the player when it’s posted here. If I had been in MatthewG’s shoes, I would have done the same thing. Verbalconmits and 247Sports show he’s a point guard.

Why is he receiving these offers now? For one thing, he got a lot of attention when he blew up on the prep circuit last summer (see link below). My guess is schools like OU are trying to fill scholarships with the best player available in the 2018 class.

Keep in mind, too, he has a connection to Buddy Hield. If I was an OU coach and Buddy called me about a kid who played in the Bahamas he likes, I would listen.

Boy, I sure do like the film on this kid. Probably more so than the Kennedy kid who was just offered.
 
visited Ole Miss a couple days ago. I think his best options are us or ole miss as of now.

Me too! Unlike most recruits we hear about, there are a number of videos online for this kid. It’s easy to see why he has an OU offer.

He was mic’d up on one video I watched. I’m sure he was more vocal than usual knowing he had a mic on, but he has all of the markings of a confident young man who is a natural born leader.

I say sign him up if we can! He could help us next season.

Cant take both. Heard/read announcement was May 10th.

I assume if Reaves decides first... Theyll take him.

The last day of the spring signing period is May 16th. No big deal if they don’t sign, because the first day they attend a class in the summer makes it official. Still, I would rather they sign someone before the summer.
 
Didn’t someone mention Miller a few months ago?

In any event, the videos I have seen online like the one I posted below sold me on this kid. If he picks OU and he can play defense, the returning two guards on our roster may be in for a battle for playing time.
