OU Texas heading to SEC

Texas goal is to screw up every conference in the country

Here is a wild thought. Maybe Kim knew OU and Texas were going to the SEC!

Just my personal thoughts but Kim went to LSU strickly for money and perhaps the competition in the SEC. While she might have been informed something might happen she could care less about whether she plays the whorns and the Sooners or not.

But no question with Vic's return to the SEC it becomes much more difficult over time to win the SEC. And what are the Sooners now the 6-10th best program in the SEC? Jennie has a difficult task at hand. She is going to need to work overtime.

Interesting thing, they are now saying Sark knew about the move before he took the Texas job. This puts Kim's timeline well after that. LSU probably told her that Baylor was about to be a lame duck but to keep it quiet.

The SEC is going to be tough in every sport especially two of my favorites (women's gymnastics and softball). Honestly, this is the best thing to ever happen for Patty Gasso's bunch. We no longer have to worry about our RPI.

Very true but Patty's softball fans will likely have to learn to live with a few more losses despite developing a better more experienced team with that improved RPI. Softball fans will likely have to learn to live with few less conference championships but that shouldn't have much impact on Patty and the natty seeding.

Playing in the SEC against better competition might even aid Patty's recruiting in both Cal and Texas as well as now picking up an occasional top player from the Southeast.

Yes, however, I think they will still do pretty good. I think they would have won the SEC easily this past year. I still say that Patty tried to lose that game in Athens. As for recruiting the South, that will open the door. There is a travel ball team run by my close friend Richard Shea (Auburn Days) that is top notch. G. Juarez played for his team and she was from Arizona. He called me after the world series to brag on her. His team is the Birmingham Thunderbolts. Iron sharpens iron, Patty will enjoy the SEC and so will we. The best teams in the Big 12 were the pukes and Texas but the rest were terrible.

Going to the SEC won't slow down Patty's pipeline from Michael Stith's OC Batbusters, Tony Rico's Firecrackers, or the Corona Angels either!!!!!

Bingo!!! And that is key. Might even elevate the numbers of California travel ball girls going to OU as some additional California players might want to play in the top SEC conference as there are a combined 57 California/West Coast players on 2021 SEC rosters.

I'm no expert (don't even play one on TV), but I'd guess the opportunity to play for the best coach/program in softball is more attractive to Cali girls (and those elsewhere) than simply playing at an SEC school.

Many of those SEC players from the West Coast were not recruited by Patty.

No doubt but the isolated exceptions I noted are exactly that an isolated exception.

Maybe Lon and Sherri were told of moving to the SEC ?????? It was a good time for them to retire????

I don't know about Sherry but Lon was the right age and had the right health history to have been hit hard by COVID if he had caught it. Coaching last season had to be extra stressful for all the coaches but especially hard for someone in his situation. Once his son was hired at UNLV it became the perfect time to retire.
