Re: OU-Texas Tech Box Score

Cousins and Booker really saved the day with their perimeter shooting. That's two straight subpar performances from our star, Buddy Hield. He's got to wake up. Tuesday night against TCU would be a good time to start.

FYI, the TCU game is Saturday afternoon. OU has no midweek game next week.

OU's bench outscored Tech's bench 22-2.

Really good stat line for Frank Booker!

Free Throws
> OU .. 20-of-25 (.800)
> TT .. 17-of-26 (.654)

Good free throw shooting saved OU from a bad loss.

Obviously, you take any conference road win and be grateful. That said, we're not going far in March with Buddy shooting like he has the past couple of games. It's great that we can win without him scoring effectively, but that won't get us more than one win in the Dance. Hopefully, he'll break out of his funk after a nice layoff.

Doesn't seem like our D has been anywhere near as good recently as it was earlier this season. Not sure if any sites, Ken Pom maybe, assign a D ranking to each game so this could be measured, but I haven't liked what I've seen on D nor with our rebounding. Spangler didn't look like he wanted to be out there at all today.

I agree with you WaymanFan! Buddy has to play better if OU hopes to make a little noise in the NCAA tourney. His 3 of 12 shooting was just part of the story. He also had 5 turnovers.

Makes me wonder if Buddy has been sick lately? He definitely was not himself today.

Re: OU-Texas Tech Box Score

I agree with your comments about the defense. It has not been one that will take us far in the tournament. It's just fair right now just like the rebounding. Got to pick it up.

OU's defensive rating on Kenpom went from #4 to #7 after that clunker.

That is a good thing because Woodard is bang up.

I believe it fell to #5 after Texas....and now down to 7. Tech was very efficient on offense yesterday. They basically limited the amount of possessions in the game by running clock on practically every offensive set. Then to add insult to injury, then hit just under 60% on their FGs. That will put a dent in your defensive efficiency rating.
