Just announced on OU's official twitter.

Just curious. Does anyone in Oklahoma get LHN? Does Cox carry that station?

Looks like espn's attempt to increase subscriptions to LHN by trying to force Sooner fans to buy in. Won't happen here. That game should be available to everyone.

Same here! No way I would support the Longhorns by paying to watch a game on LHN. I might not tune in if DirectTV carried that channel and offered it to me for free. Well, maybe that's a stretch, but you get the idea. Scru ESPN and the LHN and the white horse they rode in on!

I get the LHN on Cox in Oklahoma City area. Channel 274.

It comes with our COX package, without a separate fee for the LHN listed on the monthly bill.

It was entertaining to watch the football coaches shows this week. Schadenfreude.

The saddest part of this is that OU is going to try and tell the fans that this game has Tier 3 rights, which belong to the home school, because ESPN and Big 12 Network passed it up. Total bull****. Texas offered OU a deal and they took it.

sucks about this is that the game is not in HD in OKC and the picture is crappy hopefully Cox will be able to pick it up in HD

Is this speculation or do you have sources on this? I'm not doubting it's true I just think if it is true the administration should be bludgeoned with it until they get new jobs.

No sources, but it's pretty obvious, at least to me. Texas has worked this out in the past for Big 12 football and basketball games.

OU says ESPN and the Big 12 Network passed on OU-Texas, making it third tier. Yet West Virginia/TCU is on the same day on the Big 12 Network. I don't buy the fact they "passed" on OU-Texas for that game.

They "passed" on the game because there was a deal in place for them to do so, and allow it to slip to third tier/Texas. In return, OU is getting a check for allowing it to happen or Texas owes them a favor somewhere along the line for the Sooner Sports Network, IMO.

I get the LHN through my carrier so I'm gonna get to see it anyway. Just sayin.

Yeah I agree. A deal like that would be public record so it'll be interesting if any media goes looking for it. They should because, again, it's pretty outrageous.

I have the LHN. I will NOT watch this game, though. I will also write a letter telling the AD that I was considering buying season tickets until this was announced.

The slippery slope that is the LHN has reared it's ugly head like we all knew it would.

I think some of you are making WAY too big a deal out of this.

Did you really think OU would never play a game on that network? Who cares. What advantage does it REALLY give Texas? None. Just like the "pull" that some teams and fans think Texas has in the Big 12. It makes OU fans look really insecure to throw a fit over stuff like this. IMO, of course.

This is BS. No OU game should ever be on LHN. No conference game should ever be on LHN. I don't want an OU game to help sell the LHN. It is a big deal. It's bad enough tx controls the conference, now OU has to help sell their bull**** channel too. It only helps tx if an OU game is on their channel. It's no surprise the big12 is tanking with tx dictating everything. When is OU going to stop following and start leading.

About once a year we will agree on something. I guess today is the day.
