Was looking over the overtime games Kruger has lost at OU and thought I would share. He hasnt had much luck.

I know everybody has fotgotten anything good that Capel ever did at OU, but at the time these OT wins were pretty sweet at the time, especially the first few.

Here are the last 12 overtime games at OU for those of you with selective memory.

Kruger's patient, unflappable approach is really good for the end game. But OT is something totally different ... you've got to have some swagger -- and someone who wants the ball. Woodard's not there, and Buddy is still too sloppy to be that guy.

Plus, there's some luck involved. Pretty sure Capel used up all his luck in OT games.

I think that overtime is when maturity and experience are most valuable. Our youth is probably a detriment in overtime. But these guys are gaining valuable experience and I have no doubt they will improve because of it.

4 of the 5 were on the road, Ill give Lon a pass. My biggest gripe with him is leaving timeouts on the board. It drives me nuts , he is just not a big timeout guy.
To me timeouts are your friends. You should have a designed play where you make the defense work , not dribble out clock , no passes and take one shot.

I'm guessing your last post on the same topic in December (see post below) wasn't enough, so you felt compelled to repeat it. Is that an accurate assumption?.

What is the deal with Kruger in Overtime games? He is now 0-4 at OU. Capel was 7-0 in overtime games at OU. When it went to overtime you always felt we would win. Now it seems like overtime games never go our way even at home against LTech

What I don't get is why you haven't had anything to say about the first 23 games, especially this team's 17 wins, four of them over ranked teams? Until now, you have made exactly one post since May, 2013. Why is that?

Campbest is right, this is another Kruger jab. Do I agree with every decision he makes at the end of games? Absolutely not. But at least I give him credit for the good things he does, which is more than I can say about you. Capel is not here anymore, and he's not coming back. Get over it!

Yes, the time-out thing is what had me at the end of regulation last night. We wasted time getting the ball up the court and took a bad shot as well. I believe we still had 3 time-outs.

I still like this team! Coming back from the large deficit was beautiful. That's coaching also.

Never mind that 3 of Capel's wins were with BG, and also never mind one of them was over NC Central. Why did we have to go to OT vs NC Central in Norman no doubt?

Also never mind Kruger has yet to have a team with good upperclass talent. Last year had Roe who was very good, Pledger and Fitz who were flawed players. This year we have 4 soph/frosh in the starting lineup and 1 sr, and as someone mentioned OT is when the sr's step up. Clark is in a big time slump and he did nothing in OT.

Honestly, the game should have never gone to OT because Woodard should have driven to the hoop instead of going to the near side wing and passing to Cousins. Had Woodard driven to the hoop he's either going to make an assist for an easy bucket, get fouled, or get the ball to someone who will get fouled.

But, hindsight is 20/20.

I knew once it went to OT we were in trouble. Hard to win road games in OT in any sport.

Funny you mention that our kids have been in every game this season. I was thinking about that last night. Our loss to Michigan State by 11 was our biggest so far. All of the others have been by 7 (KU) or less.

That's no consolation to anyone, a loss is a loss if it's by one point or more. But I can't think of an OU team in years with only one double digits loss on their record. One of the things I love about this year's team is that they don't know the meaning of quit.
