You could take a look at Northern Iowa & St. Mary's and see what was wrong with our team in a hurry. The passion and love for the game was quite obvious. The way they played together, the feelings they had for each other was unmistakable. You call being team. Hopefully we can find that again, much more important than talent.

I couldn't agree more. It's easy to see why every team in this tournament was selected to participate in the post season, while OU players, coaches and fans watch the games on television.

The title of your thread says it all: Passion! A passion for the game, your teammates and your school are key to any team's success. The Sooners did not have that this year. Too many players were competing for the person they see in the mirror when they comb or brush their hair, not for each other. Hopefully that will change next season.

I heard the Northern Iowa coach say that he has 5 seniors and 4 jrs on this team. Those kids are more mature and grounded than most of our squad.

Sure they are playing with more passion because they have 1 goal in mind.

We have too many guys who have had 1 goal all season. Fill up THEIR stat sheet and make a good impression on the NBA scouts. That's a recipe for disaster and fixing it should be Jeff's top priority this offseason.

Those players wanna play college ball and win as a team, then move on to the NBA. Some of our guys just wanted to use us a stepping stone straight to the NBA, not caring about their teammates or enjoying college ball.

Those guys are teams, we have no team. yet.

part of it was their senior leader and pg had a bad game. I think Self waited too long to apply pressure. I also think Cole should have played more

Does this mean KU didn't have that passion for the game?

KU had a lot of passion for the game. Thats why they were the number one overall seed. They had a bad game against a quality oppenent and lost. Plain and simple. We had a losing record and finished 10th in our conference. That is a lack of passion, hunger, desire, and teamwork. We had way too much talent to finish 10th in the league. Even with freshemn playing huge roles. Kentucky has 2 freshemn and Patterson leading them to a possible final four bearth and national title. OUr guys need to start playing for the name on the front of the jersey or we will have the same problems next year.
