His father is Terry Pritchard who was a 6'6" former TE on the 85-87 football team from Moore Oklahoma. I found this writeup from Terry from a few years ago:
Terry Pritchard
"After High School I attended the University of Oklahoma on a Football Scholarship. I moved to Oregon about 8 years ago after meeting my wife Melissa who attended the University of Oklahoma on a Gymnastics scholarship. She is from Oregon and we have made our home here. I have three children Taylor 14, Payton 7 and Alexis 5. They are the three main focuses in our lives and we enjoy coaching and watching them grow up.
Career wise, I have worked in Sales for several years and then in the last year I started a Sports Fundamentals Training Company for youth. The company is called FAST Sports Training and it is growing at a tremendous rate. We are looking into building a sports complex here in Oregon City. This summer we have 2 Baseball Camps and 3 Basketball Camps. Needless to say we will be really busy. I can honestly say this is what I was meant to do from the beginning. I enjoy working with Kids and Sports have always my first Love. We follow the Sooners here in Oregon in fact we are the only ones for miles around that hangs an OU Flag in the front of our house. We plan to go an OU game this year and then of course the game next year against Oregon."
Here's a link on Payton and his basketball accomplishments. Impressive that he was a starting PG as a soph averaging 18 ppg and 7.5 assists on the 6A state championship team. His work ethic shows he is driven to get better. I like the story about him dribbling a weighted basketball so much he had to tape his hands. Sounds like a good one.
Payton Pritchard
[During the season, it’s not uncommon for Pritchard to have three or four basketball workouts, starting with an hour in West Linn’s gym before classes start./QUOTE]
The Sooners have never had much luck with pulling a high-profile recruit out of the great northwest. But, with Payton's family having strong connection to OU, this one might be different. Sure hope so!
Hale says:
Not only did Peyton's parents attend OU but an uncle and many relatives did as well. He also says that 2016 Center Joey Brunk of Indianapolis Southport will be here as well
Man, sure like what I see of Joey Brunk in this video! Big, strong kid who already has a D-1 body at 16 years old. Might be hard to lure him away from the Hoosiers and other mid-west schools.
The good news is that with Pritchard and Brunk showing a legitimate interest in OU, our coaches are off to a great start on the 2016 recruiting trail.

I'm a little luke warm on Brunk.......I don't look at him and see a D-1 body (he definitely needs to get in the weight room)...he looks like he moves pretty well for someone 6'10" (which PROBABLY means he is 6'8"). He doesn't look overly athletic either. He DOES look unselfish and I like how he can finish with his right and left hands.....that is good....but every block we saw was against someone WAY smaller than he is.....I just need to see more video of him I think.
Don't get me wrong.....If he is a legit 6'10" he is worth a look and worth keeping an eye on.....
I trust Lon and Co. though....they have proven that they can evaluate talent.
Oh, I don't see him as a finished product by any means. I agree he needs to add more weight in the form of muscle to his 6' 10" frame.
What I should have said is for a 16 years old kid, he is well on his way to being ready for the next level at 6' 10" 230. One web site I checked had him listed at 215. My guess is his true weight is somewhere between 215 and 230. He looks bigger to me than Jamuni McNeace, who is listed at 202.
Brunk reports a Michigan State offer, that's enough for me.
