Apologies if this is answered in another thread, but what is everyone’s % likelihood Hill, J Groves, and Sherfield stay at OU?

my mostly uninformed guess is that Groves stays sherfield turns pro and Hill is 50/50

Very low percentages for Sherfield and apparently Hill as well.

Sherfield’s pro prospects in terms of $ are not great. If he can make more staying, my guess is he does that and tries to have a banner year to get some NBA / g league looks.

Hill’s will probably be opportunity based. Can he go somewhere to compete for a title like Brady did? If not, I expect he stays. Is T Groves done eligibility wise?

If Jacob Groves stays and plays anywhere near double digit minutes next year, I might actually cry real tears.

100% all stay. Mostly wishful thinking.

Sherfield will be the returning star in system/program/league he already knows. He won't get drafted in the NBA, so going pro means fighting for a roster spot and PT who knows where. I suppose if went in the portal he could end up in a good spot, but that has risks too.

Hill definitely won't get drafted in the NBA, going to a new team would be leaving a place where he is valued and a guaranteed starter, plus he has been here a long time so presumably likes the program, has friends here, etc.

J. Groves... He is most likely to leave IMHO, he may fear being recruited over and go to a smaller school. He seems to like Moser and Moser him, but his PT is not guaranteed next year here.

Tanner is done, yes. Jacob is not.

Unfortunately i think you've got all 3 backwards. Hill and GS gone and we keep the non-power conference player :( (porter better not play him much)

If Sherfield stays in college, I'd be very surprised if it isn't OU. He has publicly spoken glowingly of his time here and how it has restored his love for the game.

I’m afraid we will lose the two good players and be stuck with Jacob groves. Another albatross around Mosers neck, dragging him and OU to the bottom.

That’s definitely my concern, too. I do think Grant would have a tough time getting a waiver, so his choices would seem to be OU or a pro career. Jalen obviously can do whatever he wants and my guess is that he will go the Manek route, although I guess it’s somewhat encouraging that he is still around the team and hasn’t entered the portal now that we are two weeks behind our last game. As for Groves, I sure hope that at the exit meeting, Porter made clear that he needs to improve significantly in order to be anything more than a bench guy.

Why would Groves leave?

1. He's at a D1 TRADITONALLY successful program
2. Starts and plays a lot of minutes
3. His coach LOVES him
4. Gets all the free gear, food and fun...gets to go cheer for great football, softball, gymnastics, women's bball programs in his off time.

Sherfield...guessing gone Hill, like someone said 50/50

Well, his brother will be gone, his family is nowhere near Norman, and he lost his starting role late in the season. And, one would hope, Moser made clear that he will have to earn his minutes next season. I mean, Gilbert and Harkless left, in part because they wanted bigger roles even if it meant transferring to worse teams. No idea whether Jacob will leave, but it wouldn't be that strange.

Isn’t Sherfield 23 years old? I’m guessing that he is probably ready to move on from college.

i’ll buy all the jacob groves stock you all are selling. he’s nowhere near as bad as you all are making him. and i will die on the hill that he came in vastly improved last year, but confidence is a helluva drug. wherever he ends up, confidence will make or break him.
