That's from Emig. Impermissable participation in a pro-am game. Will be back after that.

Someone tell Jay Bilas, he will go off on the NCAA.

Gotta suspend those student-athletes for playing basketball outside the season!!

What in the heck is a pro am game? And, is it illegal to play in them? If so, why? I need one of you basketball gurus to talk me down.

Is this the reason he was suspended for the first exhibition game? Or was that for something else?

I don't know the details, but it said he failed to fill out the proper paperwork beforehand. Secondary violation.

The first time he was suspended was for violating attendance policies I believe. Gotta go to class!

Guessing this is what that other poster was talking about the other day. If so, he certainly didn't have it 100% right, but there was a little truth to it.

Given that he said 2 players for the whole semester, I am guessing that it isn't the same thing.

Actually I said:

I've been told that we can expect 2 players to be suspended for a larger portion of the first part of the season... Maybe the whole first semester...

I believe this to be what I heard about. I'm glad I wasn't 100% correct and that it looks to only be 1 player for 1 game. I'm a little surprised, but I'm glad the official word turned out to not be as bad as I expected.

Our compliance department really is a joke. Always lagging behind. It makes perfect sense for a player to need permission to participate in a pro-am game yet somehow a junior on our team either didn't know it or blew it off. Based on our sloppy history I would guess Pledger was not properly informed of the rules.

NCAA might really slam us for the Gallon stuff. It just never ends.
