Same thing was said about Capel, because he related to the players...he was young and listened to Jay-Z, same music as the recruits today, etc...had no recruiting ties to the region and look what that brought us...open your eyes
actually you need to open your eyes. we need, first and foremost, someone who can win with the quality recruits that OU can support. OU will NEVER be a basketball recruiting powerhouse unless we were to go on some highly unlikely UCLA-esque streak with 10 NCAA championships in a row.
Recruiting isn't the #1 priority...it's coaching. After that he can improve our chances to get better recruits and IMO he'll do that. He did it at CLemson and Florida.
