Practice today at 2 in Lloyd Noble

Good news. Looking forward to your thoughts on the practice.

Well Akolda practiced for about half the time and then left... I don't know what was up with that but while he was out there he looked to be going full speed. I'm not an expert on breaking down basketball players so I don't think I can be very insightful. Per player this is what I noticed:

Buddy- Doesn't miss very often.
Cousins - Looked to be the point guard most of the time.
Woodard - Made some jump shots and drove to the basket well.
Spangler - Same old Spangler. He got after Lattin one time for being in the wrong spot. It was fun to see his leadership.
McNeace - Liked watching him play. Lot of energy and a lot of smiles.
Lattin - Looks a little bit beefier this year. Still has a lot of energy. Made a few baskets around the rim which I liked.
Bufford- Shot wasn't going down as much as I thought it would today.
James - He seemed most like the freshman. Worked hard but made some errors.
Rashard - He played very well. Made some nice buckets and nice moves. He was pretty light hearted and joked around. He looks like he will get some playing time this year.
Akolda - He is so much bigger than everyone else. His size is something OU could definitely use. Could be a major shot blocker.
Walker - Looked good. Had a few steals when working on the press.

You could tell a lot of the younger guys were getting to be good friends. Joking around and you could tell they enjoyed their time in practice.

As an aside. CBS had a crew there working on a documentary to show during a game in January. They had been all over the country videoing teams and doing interviews. They interviewed 3 of the guys that are apparently regulars to the practices.

The report that AK could be back 3 weeks must have meant to full capacity.
Did he limp or favor his bad foot ?

So glad to hear Odomes is more than holding his own. His stats and measurables were fantastic coming out of high school and his adjustment to a more athletic game from a smaller school seems way ahead of even optimistic expectations.
