Prep Spotlight: Oklahoma Class of 2011

Curious if you just left Trey Cohee (Ardmore) off of your list because of lack of knowledge or on purpose...

He is one of the best scorers in the state this year and a very nice combo guard...

If you are aware i was just wondering what your thoughts are of him as well...

He should've been included in the Best of the Rest list, that was an oversight by myself and William. As far as him as a player I don't have too strong of an opinion on him as I have only seen him in person once (tournament at Milwood). They played Dallas Skyline and Ardmore won fairly easy but from what I can remember from that game it was an ugly game and I don't remember Trey or even Nino standing out too much.

He is a brother of my Ardmore Teammate so i'm biased but he does have a lot of skill...he plays lazy and doesnt press with his skills or he would be darn near immpossible to guard...very nice handles and shot from 3, but has a tendency to play around with the competition rather than attack...I see him going to a Juco for a couple of years with a chance to play Small D1 ball after that as a ceiling...

I like the young man a lot. He's inconsistent as far as how he plays from one game to the next, but he's definetely talented. I have even had a D1 coach inquire about him. That being said, this is a very solid list and the top 15 are players who are getting a lot of D1 interest. With the exception of Drew Craig and Rex Farmer, the rest of the players in Oklahoma aren't getting that attention right now.

Also take in to account that we're pretty new at this and we are trying our best at using all of our resources to scout and find out about kids from 2011 to 2015. Kyndal Dudley, Kentrell Brothers, Ryan Devers, and a few other good players weren't on the list as well, but we still feel pretty highly of them. Here's one kid, Nick Tate, that also doesnt' get a lot of recognition.

Why did you rank Tre Payne and he hasn't played in a game this year? I seen him in the stands at a PC North game last week and from my understanding he has no intentions to play basketball the remainder of this season or this summer.

The 2012 rankings were made a few months ago before he stopped playing with PC and whatever issues happened there (William knows more about it then myself). When they are updated after this season I do not expect him to be on them.

Knowing what we do know about Payne, he wouldn't have been ranked. Not because of lack of talent, but because of the overall picture. Grade issues and conduct issues do have an affect on rankings and we weren't aware of those issues before the rankings.

The Parker kid is pretty salty. I saw him play against Keith Vick of Piedmont at the Hardwood classic and both those kids battled. Vick is Pretty athletic, but Parker was a strong, physical, player.

OU should have offered Dom Raney a long time ago. He'd be the second best athlete on the team right now and he can score in a bunch of different ways. It puzzles my why Jeff Capel is so critical in his evaluation of Oklahoma recruits and gives 6'6 stiffs from prep schools and high school bball factories open invites to OU.

Yep. Raney could be running the point for us right now better than what we have on campus. I also think he's already a better overall player than Pledger. Flame away on that one. Very sad that Capel isn't looking at him.
