Scott Drew

Just because Jeff Capel took OU on an Elite 8 run didn't make him a good coach, and Baylor winning the last 3 games doesn't make Drew a good coach. The bottom line is that Drew has championship talent and underachieved with said talent... Mark my words... They will get bounced the first weekend of the tournament.

History doesn't support you're prediction Baylor and Drew will get bounced opening weekend.

2007–08 Baylor 21–11 9–7 T–4th NCAA First Round
2008–09 Baylor 24–15 5–11 9th NIT Runner-up
2009–10 Baylor 28–8 11–5 T–2nd NCAA Elite Eight
2010–11 Baylor 18–13 7–9 T–7th
2011–12 Baylor 30–8 12–6 T–3rd NCAA Elite Eight
2012–13 Baylor 23–14 9–9 T–4th NIT Champions

I am not a big Scott Drew fan but he has done a solid job at Baylor. I think his strengths are recruiting and relating to players. I think his weakness is defense and running a disciplined offensive team.

This is a good coach = two elite 8s, won the NIT and his 3rd Big XII championship game. 15 post season wins. Whatever the recipe is it works. Drew will on primetime TV tonight in the Big 12 Championship game 8 other big coaches won't.

He's been a successful coach for sure...definitely the best thing to ever happen to Baylor basketball. I don't think anyone on here has questioned his ability to recruit, relate to players, motivate them, etc. Heck, he and his staff can even put together a good game plan.

With that said, we goof on him because no coach in the conference is worse at making in-game adjustments. A team with as much talent as Baylor had no business being a #7 seed in the conference tournament. None. Still, I respect your position because the guy does win basketball games...but I'm not trading Lon for him..and most of my fellow Sooner fans wouldn't either.

I would only trade Bill Self for Kruger. Saying Drew is a bad coach is just plan dumb.
