Selection Sunday with reactions

It is pretty sad to see the attitude of the moser haters. They are happy as all get out, which was predictable.

And we know that they would be in a pissy attitude if we had made it in

Tells you all you need to know
lol dude… WTH.. I don’t see ANYONE EXCITED we are not in the tourney… just the opposite.

I’m in the moser needs to go but saying we are happy he sucked enough that we missed the ncaa? Stupid.

This is just him not wanting to admit he was wrong. If he had been right, he would have mocked the people who said we might not make it. But when he is the one wrong. He just deflects and pretends we wanted to miss the tournament.

100% would play and try to win the thing

The team from two years ago was playing well, and I felt like could make some NCAA noise with the way the season finished. This team is more deserving of an NCAA bid, but I'm just not optimistic with the current level of play.

Having said that, all the teams we've struggled with are in the NCAA. We've won ever non-quad 1 game, which is essentially the competition we'll be up against. I don't see it, but it's possible if this team is healthy and actually excited to play.

I'd put it to a team vote.

Bummer Moser stifles our players on offense. Half looked like they'd come down from spaceships and had never shot a basketball in some games this year
And like Joe Bamisile, Mason, they’re doing well at other places

Two years ago, this is where I was. Thought we had a decent year 1 under PM and that the NIT would be a good way to keep some momentum and end on a high note.

This year? Don’t feel that way at all. Going to the NIT in year 3 with no NCAA bids prior feels like a failure and beyond anticlimactic.

Focus should probably move immediately to the portal, retaining guys, recruiting, et. I don’t see much benefit to playing.

Beyond that, majority of other bigger programs have already declined invites, lessening whatever prestige and intrigue would come with going. Lastly, we’d likely be a top seed… with up to 3 games at the LNC. I actually think the turnout would be so bad that it could create an overall negative impact/optics. I’d pass this year.

just in case....

They already have game times up for Thur/Fri.

I remember when they wouldn't come out until almost 10pm central time.

Edit: Well, the Thur times are out. Not Friday yet (that I've seen).

Soonerbounce13…

I’m confused… you’re on here telling us “moser haters” we are asses and are happy OU isn’t in the tourney but 2 hours ago you said to fire moser in the moser future thread…

Which is it?

Only if there was a way to rank teams that took into account their non-conf SOS. The committee is broken.

Outrageous.

Should OU have done more to solidify a berth? Absolutely. Anyone saying, "OU did this to themselves", is not wrong. Shouldn't have left it to chance.

But UVA getting in over OU wasn't the right decision, IMO.

At least women are in… 5 seed but have to go on the road because of the gymnastics b12 championship is in Norman… from my understanding

This goes back to the Lon Kruger years, but I feel like we take all this Kenpom and random rating crap to try and justify a team and program that is barely treading water.... The bottom line is OU shouldn't be in this position at all. OU has been within a game of making or missing several times. They are simply mediocre and there is no other way around it. Mediocre teams sometimes make it in, sometimes they don't. The solution is to not be in that situation.

Been following OU bball religiously since mid 90's. Instead of being depressed about the snub (like I would've been previously), I just feel apathy setting in more and more each year. I am depressed that I feel that way, but it's hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Man, I'm so tired of getting my hopes up, only to have them squashed. Just defeated, man. The snub isn't even the worst part, really. The way we've been playing, it felt like a first round exit was all but guaranteed anyway.

Now Friday is posted.

UH getting the first of the four late games on Friday. Some good games in that window (James Madison/Wisky, TCU/Utah State, & Grand Canyon St. Mary's).

St John’s has a gripe. Their NET was a lot better than ours, and better than ours two years ago.

Fixed it for you.

I agree, while it sucks missing the tournament, maybe missing the tournament is for the best anyway

Yep, OU had on their non-conf schedule two top 25 teams in Ark and USC. It's not OU's fault that it didn't work out for those teams. And the only reason Michigan State or FAU made it was probably cause they were pre-season top 10 and better TV draws than OU.
