Serious ? about Capel and next years team....

I have to admit I don't have the enthusiasm for this years team but am trying to get back engaged. Listening to the announcers tonight it seems like we have a couple of big men for next year and a few nice parts coming back and it looks like Clark is a star in the waiting.

So my question for the board is if Capel brings in a few more highly rated guys for next year, does he get to stay and will he be able to turn this puppy around.

I like Capel and think he is a decent coach. Winning still comes back to PLAYERS and TALENT like coach Switzer has always said and keeps reminding people. In basketball it just takes a few to make a huge difference - anyone remember Blake Griffin, lol?

I want Jeff to succeed and restore this thing, I believe he learned a lesson on recruiting 5 stars who don't care about anyone else.

One last thing, I hate to see the Lloyd Noble so empty (OSU's arena is very empty these days as well) - I hope the fans can start showing up more as the league season goes on to allow Jeff to recruit better, jmo.

i am bumping this thread because i dont want to start ANOTHER capel one, but im not sure if this has been thought of before or not, but someone always tries to argue with me about OU basketball& he INSISTS that capel is going to leave to go to another school after this year? & i just dont think thats going to happen. whos going to offer him something? i told him maybe in a few years if he turns this crap around & people can see what hes really "capelable" (haha) of then ya maybe, but he just wont stfu about it & i wanted more opinions from knowledgeable OU basketball people!

This probably has more to do with him winning and putting a constant product on the court. Jeff is also going to be hard pressed to get any "highly rated guys" for next year. Not much left on the table at this point.
