Sooner twin shooters will be hard to hold down [Norman Transcript]

This a really good article. Clay is the beat writer for the womens team. But, he knows basketball.

In the postgame press conference, Pledger, Neal and Alexander joined their coach.

Do they not have editors to make sure they get this kind of stuff right?

8 games is a large enough sample size to start thinking 50% shooting by Neal is not just a hot streak. I don't expect him to finish the year at 50% shooting but I do expect him to finish the year close to or above 40% and that is good.

If Tyler continues to play well, LK may be compelled to give him more playing time. That's a good problem to have. But where do those minutes come from? Yesterday Tyler was the beneficiary of Cam's foul trouble. Is that a sign of things to come, or will the increase in minutes be the result of a "contribution" of sorts from more than one player?

Arguably, I haven't spent time scouring the rotation, but it does seem like LK has a good pattern with Cam, Pledger, Neal and sometimes Blair in the 2/3 positions. If Grooms is out, Blair will run PG and any combo of Cam, Pledge and Neal will run 2/3 (I think - again, just going from memory). I would think that Blair's minutes at anything other than spelling Grooms @ PG will decrease though he'll move over for a few minutes here and there.

With as active as they are, a few minutes here and there shouldn't be too hard to find when you can move those guys around. Now, those of you who have watched more intently feel free to correct me - I may be WAY off.

The rotation has changed a bunch, game to game. Seems like we've had a few games where some foul trouble caused guys to sit most of a half (like Cam against Arky, Grooms and Osby against STL). That has messed with the rotation. Blair having a few really bad games affected it. And Newell leaving affected it. I don't think Neal was going to get many minutes as the 3 with Newell here. Now? He has to play there, almost exclusively. That opens up minutes behind Osby/Fitz/Arent for Washington and Honore.

come conf we are going to play 7 guys the majorty of the min ..

cj/arent/barry will spell the bigs a little bit and Neal will play a little 4 .. but osby and fitz will be on the court 30+ min a game ..

We will be a pretty worn out team the last couple of weeks if that is the case.

LK is going to have to find a way to rest guys. That means those bench guys will play. Osby and Fitz are playing 30 minutes now, so the rotation really won't change much.

That's probably right as in a plan but we are constantly going to battling foul trouble. I got a feeling our rotation is going to be all over the place especially when we are outmatched in conference play.

What I like about Lon so far is that he isn't afraid to give guys a chance. Aren't is usually the first big off the bench (especially for Fitz). If he plays well, he is usually the first off the bench later. If he doesn't, Lon isn't afraid to give Honore a shot. Or CJ. So far those guys have come through pretty often. They won't always, we all know that.

Yeah I totally agree. It's like with Neal, he has been pretty quiet so far but he totally lit it up when cam was out. We've got the bodies to help take the load off and if each of them can occasionally contribute meaningful minutes, then we may be more successful than everyone is guessing.
