I would still like to see him get a shot or am I the only one? Has everyone written him off?

He hasn't even been mentioned here! Glad you brought him up!

we would be laughed at...a div II coach with no div I experience gets a job at a top 20 program...wow...

I dont care how good he is...bring him as a assistant then promote...

Terry Evans is a successful DII coach that people seem to think will succeed at OU just because he said it was his dream job. He is not ready for prime time. Lamar needs to hurry up and hire him, so people will stop throwing his name out

He is starting to look more & more like a viable candidate!!Charlie Sheen called me crazy earlier about this hire!!

if it came down to former players who would be the better Terry...Evans or Stotts

He is my number one choice because unlinke the rest of the guys Castiglione will interview, OU is Terry's #1 choice. To me that makes him the best man for the job. He was a winner at OU, at Midwest City and at UCO. He would play a style that OU fans have been wanting since Tubbs was here. In my mind, he is the only guy that we have a chance with that would bring some excitement to Norman.

But sadly, I think we all know that he won't get the job. It will be some guy with D-1 experience that nobody will give a rats ace about about and Joe C will have felt that he did his job when in reality, he screwed us.

No one would work harder or wants the job more than Terry. My only concern is his lack of experience at the major college level, even as an assistant. Not sayng he couldn't do the job. The question is, can OU afford to take that chance?

But, if he's picked to be our next coach, I will support the decision.

don't worry, as soon as Geno turns us down, Terry is the man.

Only speaking for myself, I just want him to get an interview. I think he has earned that.

Here is the thing with these coaching searches. Can anyone really predict the future? Of course the answer is .. No.

Somehow, the OU ADs made excellent picks when they hired Billy Tubbs and Kelvin Sampson. Neither Billy nor Kelvin may have been the OU AD's first choice at the time, but those two "unknown" coaches gave OU basketball fans 30 years of high-level success. Both were VERY GOOD coaches at OU.

It may be possible that Terry Evans, if given the opportunity, will be very successful and become the “Coach K” of Oklahoma basketball. I mean, he has been a winning coach for quite a few years now. Obviously the Big-12 will be a MUCH bigger challenge, but Terry Evans may be ready for that challenge. Who knows. At least OU is his dream job.

There is no guarantee that any of these so called "big name" guys will have success here. Personally, I like Brad Stevens. His teams seem to be tough as nails.

There is an old saying ... It is better to be lucky, than to be good. I hope Joe C. gets lucky when he hires the next coach.

On the day that Joe C. announces the new coach, we will not know if it is a good hire. Only time will tell.

John Blake had never been a head coach anywhere, at any level.

True. Don't mistake me. I will support Evans, if he's hired. But, I am concerned that he's not experienced enough yet.

Ditto. If he is the guy, I will be behind him. But my concern is that the Big 12 coaching recruiting competition is just too strong. He would have to overcome all the negative recruiting pointing out his lack of D-1 coaching and NCAA tournament experience. It might be tough to land the talent we need until he is able to prove himself with lesser talent. Do we have that luxury?
