Sruggling with Iowa right now. On ESPN. FWIW.

Struggling is right. Scored 24 points in the first half, down by 6 to a team projected to finish seventh in the Big 10 doesn't sound like the #10 team in the country to me.

Then again, even good teams struggle early in the season.

Texas has outscored Iowa by about 20 since I made my post. So, yeah.

UT's bigs are going to be a tough match up for any Big 12 team. They dominated the second half. Taylor looked good, too.

They did what we should have done last night....impose their will and overpower and wear out the other team. To our defense, Iowa didn't look like a team with a lot of scoring options but Texas took the lead and kept a hold of it.

Texas' barometer is going to be their guard play...they won't be able to make a deep run without it.

Texas PG Isaiah Taylor hurt his wrist last night and apparently could be out up to six weeks. Ouch. OU plays at Texas on Jan. 5.

Felix is good and Taylor was very impressive in the second half. Beyond that, I didn't see anything to suggest that guard play will be a strength for UT this season.

Taylor was impressive in the second half of last night's game. Without him, UT could be in trouble. Felix is good, but he can't make up for losing Taylor. If the Whorns have someone waiting in the wings to take his place, I didn't see him last night.

Did Felix look like he had been working out with Byron Eaton over the summer or was my TV picture distorted?
