The Blake Show 2015-16

I still think he is trying to force the jump shot too much but I am very happy with his progress. Certainly has proven himself worthy of #1 pick status and I love his passing and handles.

So I have to love every player to come thru OU, especially the good ones?

I've never been a big Blake guy. I can respect his athleticism and game, but that doesn't mean I have to like the dude, or follow his career.

Never said that. Said you have to be an idiot to DOG on a guy who has done WONDERS for the program. If you don't like him that's fine. But disrespecting a guy who has done more for the basketball program by his play alone doesn't make much sense. Don't think you dogged on him at all. do think when the only thing people can say about him is something negative it just shows the kind of true OU fan they are...which is not much of one. Again you didn't say that. Others have said these things.

the thunder fans are well aware that westbrook whines.

The difference is most of the time, westbrook has a reason to as he is knocked to the ground going to the basket.

BG takes every bit the pounding that Westbrook does, and he always has.

Go flailing out of control into the lane, as Westbrook does all too often, and you're going to end up on the floor often as not. Westbrook seeks out the contact as much as anyone playing today, and when you do that, you're not going to get the call every time, nor should you. He should get whistled for charges much more often than he does.

I'd say yeah, unless and until he's given you a reason not to. I can't think of a single OU player, in any sport, I wouldn't be loyal to. If a guy beats his wife or expresses racist sentiments or robs a bank or something along those lines, sure, throw him under the bus. But I've yet to come up with a single reason for so many Thunder fans to turn on Blake.

I mean, sure, cheer against him when he's playing the local team, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about blind vitriol for a guy who was one of the five best players to ever wear the crimson and cream, who has excelled in the NBA, and who has comported himself well off the court the entire time.

Agree completely. honestly I'm a huge thunder fan. But I'm a bigger OU fan. Everytime they play the clips I always have 2 hopes. Blake goes off for 50 and 20 and the thunder win. Haha.

I just don't agree with that.

It's also not just a Thunder fan deal either. I hate the Thunder.

Your SoonerFanTU is showing...

Blake was great for OU and is still great for OU. Nobody is forcing you to read, post or agree with this thread. Feel free to post an Anti-Blake thread on the NBA thread.

Bottom line is Blake is very relevant to OU basketball. Hell, he is all we have in the NBA...

I love watching him play.

Special thanks to you, Skyvue and Jackson for your posts on this thread. Yes, Blake Griffin is VERY RELEVANT to OU basketball. Coach Kruger and his staff do not meet with a recruit or his family without mentioning the name "Blake Griffin". I would say that makes him very relevant to OU basketball.

Annnnnd thread! Great post BT!

I still remember some people saying how he will meet his match in the NBA that he won't be able to take NBA caliber players to the hole like he does in college. :facepalm

Can't wait to see BG23 and my Clips go in dry on the Blunder this year.

I think it's a shame that some of our fans can't just be happy that a Sooner is having a great professional career.

Personally, I love how he played and OU and think he's only gotten better.

In the first two games of the season, Blake is averaging 29.5 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 3.0 apg.

He's not only relevant to OU's basketball program, he's relevant to the Clippers and the NBA.
