There were no losers in this epic at Allen Fieldhouse | The Oklahoman

But then came three straight turnovers, though the first, a travel against Lattin, was shaky, since it came off a rebound.

this one really bugged me

He had plenty of chances to win. Just needed to make one more play in regulation, OT, or 2OT. Didn't get it done. Plenty of opportunities. Read where an OU fan said OU "deserved to win." Come on now. There might have been some missed calls down the stretch, but OU dominated the calls in the 1st half. OU fans would, and have, blown gaskets when visitors have come into Norman and gotten that kind of foul call advantage.

No bball game is officiated perfectly. All the things OU fans were being negative about going into the game were non-factors. I thought Vitale was more tolerable than normal, and gave OU and Buddy tons of props. I didn't have a problem with the KU fans or Self. You could tell from after the game ended how the two teams respected each other. The refs were fine. I'd say OU probably got more calls than KU did, though some were missed both ways.

It was a tight game between two very good teams. Hopefully we get them in Norman.

OU did deserve to win. So did Kansas

Deserve is a difficult word to use in this context.

OU played well enough to win, I'll say that.

KU won the game, but I don't see how you don't come away thinking OU is better. OU lost because the refs got tired and wanted to end the game by not enforcing any rules on KU. The only basketball reason OU lost was enferior depth in a 50 minute game. The depth will come.

I'm not quite ready to say we are better. simply b/c we made some amazing shots that don't usually go in. Kansas did too but they had more shots fall that were good shots as opposed to our "no no no yes!" shots

I know what you're saying, but usually Cousins is going to shoot better than 20%, and this team is hitting a lot more shots with regularity than past teams. They are good shooters, especially buddy and Jordan.

I'll be honest....being there, this loss was/is tough to swallow. The crowd was loud and there was a bit of friendly trash talking back and forth with my KU friends and other KU fans around me. Time after time....Buddy and Woodard would silence the crowd and I was loving it! The officiating was horrendous in the first half in OU's favor and was horrendous in the second half and three OT's in KU's favor. It'll be a while before I get over this...maybe Feb. 13th!! OH, Latttin was a beast!!!! BOOMER!!!

I've even seen several KU fans admit that OU wins this game if its played anywhere other than Allen Field House. And I'm not even talking about the refs. Dick Vitale called it the loudest crowd he's ever heard. To even be in a game in the face of something like that is pretty damn amazing.

Luckily, OU won't face an environment that tough again this season. Now they should have absolute confidence they can go into any environment and come away with a win.

Stupid headline is stupid and something I hear only losers say.

This is one of those losses that hurts more than just an L in the column.

A winner will never pat themselves on the back after a loss, and I hope our team doesn't do that or they won't reach their potential.

When it comes time to select and seed the tournament, I'd bet the committee gives OU as much credit for this loss than any of its nonconference wins except the absolute demolition of a really good Villanova team. I, too, hate moral victories, but as losses go, this one is about as "good" as it gets.
