So you think it had more to do with Bijan NOT playing vs. actually shooting ball well??
It's not like anyone can expect you to take the NON-negative approach I guess.
Last year, some insisted we were better without Reaves and/or Manek in the lineup. If only our coaches could be made to understand this magical addition by subtraction, we'd surely be conference champs.
Response to some of the topics within this thread:
1) We are better with Cortes than without him. He is farther along than Mason.
2) texas won't go to sleep on Mo. The team, as a whole, will just need to shoot fairly well for us to have a chance. With anywhere around a normal amount of turnovers, this game will just come down to how well we shoot the ball IMO
3) Defensively, Texas is tough to contain. They are good inside and out. You just can't come off of Ramey and Jones to help inside or to stop dribble penetration by others -- again, IMO.
4) and finally, the shooting percentage from the 3 line for Texas will be equally important to our shooting percentage. Some times they are unreal, and like us, sometimes it isn't there.
Need and hoping for a good crowd. Can't hurt.
I never said that.
But the last two games we have played markedly better, there's no debating it. I would rather see Gibson bring the ball up if we need him to. Especially if he's not scoring anyway.
Don’t hold your breath on the crowd. Tonight, there is the built-in excuse of an early start. If it started at 8, it would be too late. If it started at 7, people would be too focused on the start of spring football.
I tend to think everyone just played better. It is certainly possible that Cortes would have turned the ball over some at KU whereas Mason was asked not to be a hero and was, therefore, less likely to do that. Coach M asks more from Cortes and maybe he shouldn’t; and perhaps should use other guys to bring it up like he did while Mason was in there. Cortes can help more on offense at this point as long as he is not careless with the ball. Not sure which one is better on D but did think Mason did a nice job on D in last 2 games. Really glad to see him get that experience.

OK. Going to unload here. Our crowd. Oh man. I remember the good 'ol days of a packed Noble Center crowd. I did actually happen, believe it or not. Let me preface this by saying I love our Senior Citizens and I love little children. But damn! Sometimes when I look in that crowd, it's looks like a field trip for Senior Citizens. They usually don't get to crazy during the game . . . or . . . let's take little Johnny or Suzy to the game honey. So you have the little kids eating their popcorn and having a good ol time, which is great. Mom and Dad are like, oh, there's a game going on here. Cool. Let's sit back and chill. Something to do to keep the kids busy. Everyone sits on their damn hands. OK. I feel better now. Go ahead and flame away, I can handle it.
You've got to win.
Can't be dancing around on the Tournament bubble. Can't be middle of the road Big 12. Got to win. Got to be flirting with a conference championship.
Otherwise, the team will not move the needle. Having professional basketball in the state makes it that much tougher.

So it’s the folks who actually show up who make all those “not kids” and “not Senior Citizens” stay away? Thank goodness for them. Without them it would just be the staff there.
