TJ is gone Personal Reasons

Both turned winning top 20 (football was top 10 at the time) programs into losing programs with multiple losing seasons (after this year is complete) and both made said program the doormat of the conference. They are very comparable.

Also when Blake took over they weren't a top 20 team.

So Capel never made it to the post season never made it to the elite 8?

Nope. Blake griffin did that with the other players. We were the poorest coached elite 8 team in the history of college basketball. Capel had nothing to do with that elite 8 appearance. Just look at his record without griffin.

Sad part is, both Tubbs or Sampson would have won an NC with that roster. Bad timing i guess...

Not a top 20 team. I didn't say that but they were for sure a top 20 program.

Reading comprehension is good...you might want to try it. :woot

40 cal and Booger check your pms, the constant arguments between you 2 ends now.

Many others are able to discuss the pro and cons of Capel without turning threads into a back and forth argument that more often than not leads to personal reasons and not the merits of Capel.

Lol, 40 cal and booger is making my head spin with all this arguing....we suck, coach capel hasnt prooven he can coach on a consistent basis....I think everyone agrees on that fact....just some are more vocal than others about it

You could be stupid. I am an OU fan, I am at every game sitting courtside, cheering for my basketball team. I go to OU like I said before, smart one. If they fire Capel you will be on here b****ing like always when they aren't winning with the new coach and I will still be cheering and not putting down the team.

Really if I was an osu fan would I really not be putting down a team that is a rival, really, use your head.

Are you an osu fan cuz you can't get facts right and you put down the program all the time.

Good for you. Like many other capelables on here who are students it's easy to be a good fan when a student. Thousands of other OU students in the past were good fans too. Then they graduated and hardly ever stepped foot in the LNC since that time. Come back in 10 years and then start crowing about a great fan you are. I bet it doesn't happen.

FYI...I never complained about Sampson or Tubbs. I was happy with the job they were doing and had done. Don't lump me in with the fans who always complain because i never complained until 5 years ago and that's a fact.

I disagree totally. Capel lost to UNC...one of the best teams of all time. Nobody was going to beat UNC that year...nobody. It doesn't matter if Calhoun, Calipari, Self, Sutton, Knight, Sampson, Tubbs, Dean Smith, or John Wooden was coaching our team...We were not going to beat Hansbrough, Lawson, Ellington, Thompson, Green...and company.

I know we only made it to the elite 8...but that was the championship game.

While I would tend to agree with you, I'd also add mizzou was better than us down the stretch of that season and probably would have beaten us had we played them. I also tend to believe Izzo would have severely out coached us and MSU has the bigs to really frustrate griffin. I think they beat us, too.

Also your argument about Capel not winning when Griffin was out is kind of lame. Our offense went thru him. And we barely lost those games w/o him. Almost beat KU. And if you look at UNC that year, you can see that in the ACC tourney, Ty Lawson was out and they only won by 3 the 1st game and lost by 3 in second game.

The poorest coach...thats just stupid.

No, not really. KU wasn't very good that year. We should have beaten them at home without griffin but our coach thought wright could step in and play the same role as Griffin. No changes to the offense, no adjustments just a big fat dump in the LNC that night.

MSU bigs...are you kidding...Hansbrough, Thompson and Davis had a combined 22pts and 10 rebounds...while Griffin alone had 23 pts and 16 rebs.

MSU lost by 17 to UNC while we only lost by 12. Would it have made a difference to you if we lost to UNC in the final 4 or the championship game? NCAA committee screwed us by putting us in the same region as UNC.

Mizzou was a good team. And too bad we didn't get to play them b/c I would give you the tigers and I would take the sooners b/c I think that we would have handled their pressure and they wouldn't have any answer for Griffin.

Well, we couldn't even win the Big 12 that year when Kansas was down.

And you think that our coach's thought that Wright could replace Griffin or play the same role...your insane. You don't change your offense around for one game. What is he going to do...set up a whole new offense for them in a couple of days. Your an idiot. Kansas is always good. Aldrich, Collins, Morris twins....get over yourself. Who did we have to guard Aldrich....the guy had 20 rebounds on us.

Kansas doesn't play in the south. They don't have to go thru the good teams twice. KU was not down. A 3 seed...25-7 entering the tournament...They have Collins and Aldrich on their roster and they lose to MSU by 5 in the tournament.

You all just keep telling yourself what you need to hear in order to sell your B.S.

So even though this is a thread about Taylor it has now become one of many rehasing the same Capel arguments with both sides feeling the need to attack each other to get their point across.

I'm shutting it down since nothing good will come of it.
