Toby Rowland watched practice yesterday and had a report on it. Right at about 32:00 mark. Only about 2-3 minutes before they go on to other subjects.

Love the part about Porter saying Tae Davis is one of the best on-ball defenders he’s been around, which matches my eyes more than some of the stuff I’d seen said about him this summer. Further proof that you can’t scout defense on an Excel spreadsheet.
I also want to be clear — that’s not meant to be a shot at the guys who provide a ton of great information on this site and elsewhere via analytics, etc. I appreciate it a ton and use it to help verify or refocus my own thoughts/scout on a player. I just think it’s so hard to quantify a player’s ability or impact on that end of the floor for a variety of reasons. All stats need context and film to go with them, but particularly on defense in my opinion. Football is similar in that way.
I love the defensive potential of our wing guys in Davis, Reid, Nwankwo, Jones.
