Tone of this board has sure changed

If SFA had a different name on the jerseys instead of Stephen F Austin, like Tulsa, UTEP or SMU, it wouldn't be looked at as negatively. They are a pretty good mid-major and we didn't play well and should have still won, they are a team that can beat you when you don't come to play. They will probably win their conference, which now includes ORU.

If 2-7 are a toss up, who is in 8-10 along with TCU and TTU? Texas?

Also, I'd be absolutely shocked if the 2nd place team has only 3 losses.

Most of all the "so-called experts" I've heard had WVa as the 8th best team just in front of Tech and TCU for the cellar. Now they beat Texas in Austin so maybe it will be UT or maybe 2-8 is the toss-up. WVa has already lost 2 home games though against teams in the 2-7 predicted pile-up so that doesn't bode well for them.

My expectations for the year never wavered even after the SFA loss. If this team doesn't make the NCAA tournament, the season will be a disappointment.

Fitting you should mention A&M, since we'd just beaten them by 10 the game before losing to SFA.

Stated another way, we're 5-1 over our past six games, beating an A&M team by double digits that just beat Kentucky, an Ohio team by double digits that was in the Sweet 16 last season, a WV team by double digits on the road, and oswho by nine in a game we never trailed in.

You want to focus on a one-point, very-near-miss loss to a 14-1 team, have at it. But honestly, I don't get it. I haven't forgotten that loss and I'm not trying to gloss over it, but it sure seems as if some of you have forgotten some of the solid wins of the past five -- not one, not two, but five -- weeks.

Bingo. And he used the word pedantic.

I've been trying to get people interested in this team all year long, but I guess it just took a Bedlam win for it to happen. I think that it also helped with it being on ESPN 2. This team will have a chance to make a tourney run. Typically teams like this will only get better as the season goes on, gaining confidence and more experience with the young guys. I can think of 3 teams ( maybe 4)in the big 12 that we could sweep, while some of the bigger boys better not overlook this OU squad. If we could take care of business against the teams that we should and steal a win somewhere against a K-State or even Kansas (somehow) than this team will be dancing. We've got a really bright future guys, especially if players like Henry can actually get on campus in the future.

Thank you w0lfe for expressing what I believe to be true about this OU team (of course we'll both be dismissed as sunshine pumpers). This year's Sooners remind me of some of Sampson's not-highly regarded teams that didn't show much early in the year, but improved drastically as the season progressed. These Sooners have a high ceiling. With a starting lineup that contains two freshmen and a transfer (a player who has started to shake off the rust and is beginning to prove his worth), the team's continued improvement is, in my opinion, a virtual certainty. The overall talent is the best its been in years and the depth is probably the best in the league. Name me another team in the Big XII that can, while owning a substantial lead against OSU, give the entire starting lineup rest, and the subs actually pad that lead.

Yes, the future is looking bright for OU. But then again, the present ain't looking too shabby either. Kruger's got this team believing they can win, and for the first time in quite a few years, the Sooners have sufficient talent and confidence to continue to make that happen.
