Big 12 starting with three teams in the top 8. OSU and Tech receiving votes. Neither OU nor West Virginia got votes, not that it really matters at this point.

I like it that way! Gives this OU team a reason to start the season with an “attitude.”

I have felt all along that OU has the talent and the depth to surprise a few people. Moser is a coach who will take full advantage of the intangibles. If our team chemistry is as good as I believe it will be, I think a top four or five finish and a trip to the dance is definitely within reach this season.

Is there an echo in the building?

Ahh, no, that's just me agreeing with Ada.

Experience and AGE mean a LOT in college basketball. We're going to win some games we shouldn't because our players know how to win games and have experience winning at high levels. Even if we're overmatched physically or out-athleted, we'll be in a lot of games because we have a lot of basketball knowledge and game experience.

Oklahoma
Kansas State
TCU

Those are the 3 most interesting teams in the league this year.

TCU got a guy who was A&M's leading scorer (16ppg) and leading rebounder (8ppg) who is a stat-stuffing machine... The dude had 23/10 against Arkansas, 24/13 against Mississippi State, 18/11 against Ole Miss, 28/7 against South Carolina, 22/9 against Vanderbilt, etc. He's an all-league caliber player.

No clue how this will all mesh.... it's a total roster rebuild with transfers from all over the place... But I think those 3 teams are the most interesting.

TCU has transfers coming in this year:
  • Texas Tech
  • Texas A&M
  • Memphis
  • Western Carolina
  • UT Arlington
  • Butler
  • Vanderbilt
  • Navarro Junior College

PG: Mike Miles (6'2'' 195 - Sophomore)

G: Shahada Wells (6'0'' 180 - Senior)

With the possible exception of ISU, there aren’t two less interesting teams than TCU and KSU. You’ve been trying for years to make the Frogs relevant. It ain’t gonna happen, at least with Dixon at the helm.

Wow. Didn't know they had all those guys. I agree, pretty stout..

I didn't say relevant, or great, or any of that.... I said interesting.

Adding 9 transfers to your team from one season to the next, bare minimum, makes you interesting.

As for KSU... I think they are an interesting dark-horse candidate to make a move... Be much better than expected. You've got a really good point guard, a potentially really good 7 footer at center... And a lot of guys that can shoot the ball in between. They are a much different team this year. Lots of shooters around a big 7 footer and a really good point guard.

Oklahoma.... same thing. Picked 7th. But I see a lot of interesting pieces. Remember, Sampson said you needed 3 "really good" players and a good supporting cast around them. I think that is universally true in basketball. I think this is going to be a grinding team. Goldwire, Harkless, Groves, Chargois... OU is big, scrappy, tough...

Harkless - senior
Gibson - senior
Groves - Senior
Chargois - senior
Johnson - senior
Goldwire - senior

OU is old.... and that's a good thing. If the offense is there, I could see them finishing much higher.

Pretty sure groves is a junior, right? Anyhoo lots of upperclassmen and winners in that bunch. Our defense will challenge for the best in the league IMO.

All juniors if they want to stay. Others have to go.
