Transfer Portal Thread

i still think the second big is a want not a need ..

if OU goes into the 23 season with no bigs they will get their pick from the portal ..

Yeah but why not get a good one now and get a year under your belt and chemistry as opposed to thumb up your butt for half a season?

1. Get a big. Jake Stephens (not in portal) or someone like him. 6'9-7'0 who can do a multitude of things but namely, rebound and play defense.

2. Get a guy who can flat-out score. Jarod Lucas is a recent example.

3. You can kind of play with this spot. You could elect to get a PG but that position would get very congested - Bijan, Uzan (could combo him), Mason, transfer. Or maybe get another big type...a flex if you will. A kid who can play 3-4 spots would be ideal. Someone who can shoot.

1. Well-rounded big who can defend
2. BIG guard (6'6" - 6'7") super athlete. Would be nice if he could shoot some, but I'll settle for big athlete who can rebound, run the floor, and defend his ass off.
3. Best available offensive player

By that last sentence i'll go out on a limb and say the two besides Moja are AK and Rick.. Could be way off of course.

Yep. My guess is AK follows David Patrick, Rick drops down to low level D1. I think Mo will go because he's 24 and has been in college a LONG time. Mo should go earn some $, but could be back.

Can we please get Nijel Pack?

Two KSU players just entered

Davion Bradford (partially from OK - moved there his last year of HS IIRC)
Kaosi Ezeagu

makes sense

Could mean they feel good about a transfer PG/G. Hmm, we'll see.

Coach is that an extra one or is AK staying?

He was on the list. I wasn’t thinking earlier. Should’ve said 4.

I’m hopeful Moja runs it back. But maybe blind love!

If not OU, I hope he ends up at Houston. They need a couple of pieces, but they are very close to being able to reload and put another really good team on the floor again next season.

Seton Hall is the logical guess.

safe to say that Oklahoma won't be a choice here. Kentucky is desperate and will pay top dollar. So will others. Oh well.

I love the fact that Lon was clean beyond a shadow of a doubt. Now that NIL is allowed, though, we better figure out a way to compete, especially when it comes to portal guys. I don't expect us to win many, if any, battles against blue bloods on the recruiting front, but we need to be able to get good players who will be impact guys.

I think it's safe to say that Kentucky has been buying players since John Calipari was named coach in 2009, probably long before that. But Calipari has specialized in the 'one and done' players. He won his last, and only, championship at Kentucky in 2012 - 10 years ago. At what point do his investors want some ROI?
